After Lil Durk’s arrest on murder-for-hire charges on October 25, 2024, DJ Akademiks utilized X the following day to share a vintage interview featuring both of them.
This interview occurred in 2023, during which DJ Akademiks probed Lil Durk about his reactions to the “slide for Von”remarks circulating online. These comments were directed at the rapper to inquire whether he would seek vengeance for King Von’s death. King Von, who was shot in November 2020, was a significant member of Durk’s hip hop ensemble, Only the Family (OTF).
In response to Akademiks’ inquiry about the “slide for Von”remarks, Lil Durk stated:
“For some reason I just don’t see them comments no more.”
The video that DJ Akademiks shared quickly captured the attention of many, with users on X sharing their thoughts. One user noted Durk’s expression, tweeting:
“The look on his face says a lot. Pay attention.”
“You can see the moment of realization on ak’s face 😳,”one user commented.
“Lil Durk’s response was cold. 👀 Guess he’s focused on bigger things now,”another user remarked.
“Exhibit A. Somebody posted druski ‘we got em’ clip,”an internet user added.
“Bro dropped ‘AH HAA’ for a reason. That had to be right after they killed his cousin,”another user stated.
Additionally, some users speculated that Lil Durk’s remark about not noticing the “slide for Von”comments could suggest he had, in fact, exacted revenge for King Von:
“Broo I remember watching this interview & was like wtf was that moment…. Now I know why,”one user tweeted.
“So he was begging to go to jail,”another user remarked.
“Let’s be real. He been telling on himself,”another internet user commented.
