Disney Lorcana: Archazia’s Island – All You Need to Know About Release Date, Cards, Preorders, and Prerelease Details

Disney Lorcana is gearing up for the highly anticipated launch of its seventh set, Archazia’s Island. This forthcoming release marks the third set following Ursula’s Return and is expected to delve deeper into the narrative developments hinted at in Shimmering Skies and Azurite Sea, particularly concerning Jafar’s sinister schemes. The narrative tension is likely to escalate with the Reign of Jafar set set to release later this year. In addition to advancing the storyline, Archazia’s Island will also introduce a variety of exciting new Glimmers, featuring characters that have yet to make an appearance in the game.

In line with prior Lorcana releases, Archazia’s Island will have distinct launch dates. Local game stores, as well as Disney Stores and Parks, will offer the set one to two weeks earlier. This strategy encourages players to shop locally, supporting stores that host organized play events. Players should mark their calendars for March 7, 2025, which is when the initial release occurs.

Following this initial launch, fans can look forward to purchasing Archazia’s Island from mass-market retailers and DisneyStore.com starting on March 21, 2025. This staggered release allows those who may not have access to local outlets another chance to acquire products without incurring the inflated costs typically associated with resale markets like TCGPlayer.

Diverse Prerelease Events Across Venues

The structure for Lorcana prerelease events is not uniform, leading to a variety of formats across stores. Some local game stores may host sealed tournaments where players receive six booster packs of the new set to create a 40-card deck. These events typically allow the use of various ink colors, which differs from the usual restriction of two, making it easier to form a functional deck.

Preorders for new trading card game (TCG) sets are commonly available at local stores, as these help gauge product demand for distributors. Some venues may adopt a beginner-friendly approach by offering starter decks combined with select booster packs, creating a more accessible entry point for new players. While starter decks for Archazia’s Island haven’t yet been revealed, their introduction is anticipated.

Though official preorders for Archazia’s Island have not yet begun, history suggests looking at retailers like Best Buy might be beneficial. The previous set, Azurite Sea, featured exclusive online pre-orders through that retailer, presenting a potential precedent for allocations. It’s wise to remember that allocations from local game stores can vary significantly.

Confirmed Cards from Archazia’s Island (So Far)

Confirmations Limited to One Card So Far

Moana promo card from Disney Lorcana

To date, only one card has been officially mentioned for Archazia’s Island: Moana, Adventurer of Land and Sea. This promotion coincided with the premiere of Moana 2. The set number printed on this card implies that it will feature in the upcoming set, albeit likely with alternate artwork compared to the promo version. At this time, however, the card doesn’t showcase any particularly engaging abilities, appearing instead as a straightforward high-willpower character.

While comprehensive details on additional cards are yet to be released, anticipation builds around characters such as Bolt, who features prominently in the key art for Archazia’s Island. Recent announcements have also confirmed the inclusion of characters from Lady and the Tramp. This focus on dog characters, as suggested by the tagline “learn new tricks,” aligns with the set’s overall intention to showcase various pet characters.

The launch of a new Lorcana set typically includes booster packs, and Archazia’s Island is no exception. Individual booster packs will retail for $5.99 each, with sealed boxes of 24 available for $143.99. Unlike some other trading card games, Lorcana sets rarely have significant discounts for bulk purchases. Players can also obtain eight booster packs through the Illumineer’s Trove, priced at $49.99, which includes additional accessories such as dice.

Among the new products is a Gift Set priced at $29.99 that features a themed deck box inspired by Lilo & Stitch, along with a promo version of Lilo, Escape Artist and five random packs of Lorcana cards. However, it’s important to note that these packs include cards from sets two to six, which may lead players to miss out on new set cards, unless they are particularly fond of Lilo & Stitch.

Additionally, players can look forward to two new deck boxes paired with sleeves featuring designs from Cinderella, Ballroom Sensation and Ursula, Deceiver of All. Deck boxes are priced at $5.99 and sleeves at $9.99. Two playmats featuring art from Azurite Sea will also be available at $19.99 each, showcasing artwork for We Could Be Immortals and Tigger, In the Crow’s Nest. Note that accessory artwork for Archazia’s Island may be unveiled in conjunction with future products.

Although artwork for new Starter Decks has yet to be revealed, these decks will retail for $16.99 each, or $135.99 for a display of eight decks. While it remains unclear how many unique decks will be featured in this set, trends suggest it will likely mirror the prior sets with two options available.
