During a recent Disney panel at SXSW, which included a surprise appearance by Robert Downey Jr., Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences, and Alan Bergman, co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, discussed various topics under the Disney umbrella. The subject of a new Pirates of the Caribbean film has been swirling around for years, but Bergman’s remarks added credence to the rumors. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, he confidently stated, “Look, we’re going to be making another Pirates movie. So it’s just great. It really is great.”
