The countdown to 2026 is on, but enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating The Game Awards, hosted by Geoff Keighley, which will celebrate the most outstanding video games of the year. Earlier today, the prestigious event announced nominees across 29 diverse categories, showcasing an impressive slate from publishers and developers spanning the globe.
This year’s categories range from the coveted Game of the Year to Best Mobile Game, with additional slots dedicated to Esports. Winners will be determined ahead of the event through a combination of an international jury, comprising 90% of the vote, and fans, who contribute the remaining 10%.Voting is currently open, and fans are encouraged to participate and cast their votes for all categories.
Notably, a unique Player’s Voice category will be entirely based on fan votes for both nominations and the final award selection.
This year’s nominations feature a variety of recognizable titles from major industry players such as Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox, EA, and Sega. However, it’s the game *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33*, published by Kepler Interactive that has made history, earning the title of the most nominated game ever at The Game Awards, with an astounding twelve nominations.
