Discover the Battery Capacity of iPhone 16 Models

Recently, it has come to light that standard iPhone 16 models are being assembled in Brazil, in addition to China and India. An important update from Brazil reveals the battery capacities of all iPhone 16 variants.

According to filings from Brazilian regulatory authorities (via BlogoiPhone), we now have information regarding the battery sizes for each iPhone 16 model. Typically, Apple does not disclose detailed battery specifications for its products and instead emphasizes improvements over previous iPhone generations.

While many users may find this general information sufficient, knowing precise details is valuable to some. The Brazilian regulatory body, Anatel, discloses the following battery capacities:

  • iPhone 16: Equipped with a 3,561mAh battery
  • iPhone 16 Plus: Equipped with a 4,674mAh battery
  • iPhone 16 Pro: Equipped with a 3,582mAh battery
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max: Equipped with a 4,685mAh battery

This information allows for easier comparisons of battery life with previous iPhone models, which, while not officially revealed, were shared through similar filings in the past. Here’s how the iPhone 16 models stack up against the iPhone 15 models based on battery capacity:

Model iPhone 16 Series Battery Capacity iPhone 15 Series Battery Capacity
Base 3,561mAh 3,349mAh
Plus 4,674mAh 4,383mAh
Pro 3,582mAh 3,274mAh
Pro Max 4,685mAh 4,422mAh

The data indicates a significant battery capacity increase in the iPhone 16 Pro model, with a 9.4% larger battery compared to the iPhone 15 Pro.

Moreover, it’s important to note that comparing Apple iPhone batteries with Android flagship models may not yield straightforward conclusions, as Apple employs different app optimization techniques than Android devices. Even with batteries ranging from 3,400 to 4,500mAh, iPhones can often outperform some Android phones equipped with 5,000mAh batteries in terms of battery life.

Additionally, it was revealed earlier that Apple has raised the charging speeds of the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro models to 45W. This indicates that Apple has indeed made significant advancements in the battery technology for the iPhone lineup this year.
