Microsoft Unveils Windows 365 Link: A Cloud-Connected Mini PC
During the Ignite 2024 conference, Microsoft introduced an innovative new device: the Windows 365 Link. This compact “thin client” device is designed specifically for seamless access to the Windows 365 cloud service. While it heavily relies on cloud connectivity, the Windows 365 Link boasts impressive hardware and a tailored version of Windows that enhances user experience.
Visual Appeal with Custom Wallpapers
The Windows 365 Link features a fresh rendition of the classic Windows 11 Bloom wallpaper, complete with both light and dark modes. However, the dark version will not be packaged with the device itself. Here’s a closer look at the available wallpapers:

A Device for Professionals
Retailing at $349, the Windows 365 Link is not intended for the average consumer. Nevertheless, the announcement stirred excitement among tech enthusiasts who are eager for a Microsoft alternative to the popular Mac mini, ideally with an ARM processor.
Earlier this year, Qualcomm hinted at the release of more PCs featuring Snapdragon X processors across various form factors, yet this promise remains largely unfulfilled.
Expanding Wallpaper Options
The Windows 365 service already includes its own distinct variations of the standard Windows 11 Bloom wallpaper. In addition to the new options available through the Windows 365 Link, users can also explore a variety of other wallpapers, including:
- macOS Ventura-inspired designs
- Dark and textured backgrounds
- Exclusive styles from the Surface Pro 10 for Business
- Wallpapers included with Copilot+ PCs
