As one of Netflix’s flagship psychological thrillers, You is approaching its conclusion, with the fifth season serving as the series’ final chapter. The fourth season was released in two parts in 2023. The first part, which contained five episodes, debuted on February 9, 2023, while the second part followed on March 9, 2023.

In August, lead actor Penn Badgley shared on Instagram that he had completed filming the series, indicating that production had wrapped months prior. Despite this, the adjustment made by Netflix—removing the “Coming Soon”feature—has led many fans to contemplate whether the premiere of the final season is facing delays.

The absence of the “Coming Soon”tag from the show’s page sparked concerns that the finale could be postponed, as reported by Direct. Nevertheless, Netflix has not yet provided any formal announcements regarding the release date, so the potential for delay remains uncertain. Given that filming concluded some months ago, it’s reasonable to question whether Netflix would choose to push back Joe Goldberg’s final season.

Reflecting on the timeline of the previous fourth season, filming took place from March to August 2022. The first half was released in February 2023, following the same schedule, it is conceivable that Season 5 could similarly debut in February 2025. Another plausible explanation for the removal of the “Coming Soon”label could be that Netflix is preparing to share a specific release date, thus further alleviating concerns of potential delays.

Although the release date for You Season 5 remains undecided, it is still feasible for Netflix to aim for a February 2025 launch. Should a delay occur to a later month in 2025, it would not be unprecedented. Previous seasons of You have debuted in varied months: Season 1 in September 2018, Season 2 in December 2019, Season 3 in October 2021, and Seasons 4 in February and March 2023.
