Following in the footsteps of his father, Diddy, Justin Combs, has found himself entangled in a considerable legal issue, facing a $190,000 lawsuit from Porsche Leasing LTD. According to In Touch Weekly, this legal action was initiated in June of this year, with the company alleging that Justin defaulted on payments amounting to $170,000 for a 2022 Bentley Bentayga V8.
Alongside the principal amount of $170,000, the lawsuit includes an additional claim of $13,000 in interest. The legal documents specify:
“As a result, the Defendant currently owes approximately $172,601.43, in addition to other fees as stipulated in the Agreement. Interest will start accruing from December 20, 2023, at the legal annual rate of 10%, until the total is settled.”
At the time of purchasing the luxury vehicle, Justin had committed to making 42 payments of $3,365.23 each. Nonetheless, due to his failure to adhere to this payment schedule, the leasing company opted to reclaim the vehicle.
In response, Combs’ legal team has indicated their intent to resolve the situation. They maintain that Justin did not receive the bills necessary for payment due to an address change, which led to the missed payments.
Justin Combs’ attorney asserts, “The outstanding balance will be cleared, leading to the dismissal of the lawsuit”
In Touch Weekly reports that Porsche Leasing LTD formally served the lawsuit to Justin Combs on June 11 at Diddy’s residence in Beverly Hills. Following the news of the lawsuit, Justin’s attorneys have reiterated their commitment to resolving the issue quickly.
Attorney Jeffrey Lichtman spoke to In Touch Weekly, stating:
“Due to a change in address, Justin did not receive his bill, which inadvertently led to missed payments. We are in communication with the creditor, and we are working to resolve this matter swiftly. The outstanding amount will be settled, and we expect the lawsuit to be dismissed.”
This isn’t Justin’s first encounter with legal complications. In June 2023, he was arrested and cuffed for suspected DUI, reportedly failing a sobriety test and subsequently being booked in LA County Jail.
Ultimately, the DUI incident culminated in a plea deal, allowing him to opt for three years of summary probation rather than facing jail time.
Meanwhile, Diddy remains incarcerated after being arrested on September 16, 2024, facing numerous serious allegations including sex trafficking, racketeering, and fraud. Diddy’s legal team has made several attempts to secure his release, submitting a bail application for $50 million earlier this month.
However, a judge denied this bail plea, as prosecutors tagged the rapper as a potential “flight risk,” despite the bail package, which included his passport and various documents intended to demonstrate his commitment to stay and face the charges.
So far, Justin Combs has not publicly commented on his lawsuit. However, his legal representatives seem optimistic that a resolution will be achieved soon.
