Diddy’s Lawyer Asserts Rapper’s Innocence, Declines Plea Bargain to Prove a Black Man Can Win in Federal Court
On September 16, 2024, Diddy faced serious charges including s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution following his arrest. Although his bail was denied the next day, attorney Marc Agnifilo provided an update indicating that Diddy will not accept a plea deal.
Agnifilo appeared in a teaser for the documentary The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, affirming that the rapper maintains his innocence and is ready to tell his story:
“He has his story, and he has a story that, I think, only he can tell in the way he can tell it in real time. It’s a human story. It’s a story of love, it’s a story of hurt, it’s a story of heartbreak.”
Agnifilo also mentioned the incident involving Sean’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, stating:
“When he describes that relationship, the word he uses more than any other word is heartbreak. He was heartbroken. She was heartbroken.”
According to Agnifilo, Diddy is ready to stand up for his family and others who feel targeted by the federal government. He emphasized that his client will be honest about the case, as he does not want to let down those who care about him. Agnifilo further commented:
“I think he also feels an obligation to people in general. Maybe it’s black people, maybe it’s white people, maybe it’s anybody who’s ever felt targeted by the government. He feels an obligation to those people to say you know what, maybe I can break the model, you know, maybe I can show the world that a black man can win in federal court.”
Marc Agnifilo Discusses the Baby Oil Bottles Found at Diddy’s Residence
A grand jury indictment revealed by Page Six shortly after Diddy’s arrest outlined that during the March 2024 raids at his homes, authorities discovered “more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant.”These items were allegedly utilized in the events referred to as Freak-Offs.
In an interview with TMZ on September 26, 2024, Agnifilo expressed disbelief regarding the quantities stated in the indictment:
“I can’t imagine it’s thousands. He has a big house. He buys in bulk. Have you seen what people walk out with from Costco?”
The incidents reportedly took place within hotel rooms, where staff members were instructed to clean the rooms, arrange travel for the victims, and provide significant cash for Diddy to compensate the s*x workers.
Victims were allegedly abused during these events, facing assaults by Diddy. Reports suggest that he attempted to control the victims through promises of career advancement and threats to withdraw financial support. Additionally, Diddy was accused of monitoring their movements and supplying them with “controlled substances.”
In response to Diddy’s arrest on September 16, 2024, Marc Agnifilo issued a statement to Page Six, calling it an “unjust prosecution,”asserting:
“He is an imperfect person but is not a criminal. To his credit, Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative in this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges.”
Diddy’s next hearing is scheduled for October 9, and further updates are expected.
