An insider has reported that Sean “Diddy”Combs is reportedly receiving “special privileges”at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC), where he was detained following a denied bail request on September 17, 2024. Larry Levine, a former inmate, disclosed on the News Nation show Banfield that the rapper is allowed to shower nearly every day, contrary to earlier reports claiming he was limited to three showers a week.
Levine further stated that MDC staff were allegedly sneaking him extra food, which might have led to jealousy and created a target on his back from fellow inmates.
“My information from my source is that they’re letting him shower almost every day. It could cause some problems with other inmates as far as jealousy and special privileges. … Apparently, some of the staff is sneaking food into him,” Levine stated.
The former inmate previously noted that Diddy was “scared”and “paranoid”about eating in prison due to fears of being poisoned. He commented on the quality of the food at the MDC, describing it as very bland and often moldy, which could have an impact on the rapper’s eating habits.
The Metropolitan Detention Center has been criticized for being understaffed and poorly managed, which has contributed to high crime rates within its walls. In the last four months, two inmates were killed, and several others took their own lives.
Diddy, who was recently placed on suicide watch, has since been taken off. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, asserts that his client’s mental state has been “remarkably positive.”
This detention center has previously housed other celebrity convicts, including rapper R. Kelly, who is facing charges related to child sexual abuse, and Ghislaine Maxwell, an associate of Jeffrey Epstein involved in his sex trafficking operation. Currently, the detention center holds 1,218 inmates.
Diddy is assembling a “dream team”for his legal defense
As reported by The Mirror, Diddy is in the process of assembling a “dream legal defense team”that includes notable lawyers Anthony Ricco and Alexandra Shapiro. The rapper has made attempts to secure bail for the third time after his earlier attempts were unsuccessful.
His bond proposal of $50 million was denied by Judge Robyn Tarnofsky on September 17, who sided with the prosecutors’ claims that the rapper posed a flight risk and a potential threat to his alleged victims and witnesses.
“I don’t believe that counsel has the ability to control you, given the very significant concerns I have, particularly because of substance abuse and what seem like anger issues,”Judge Tarnofsky told Combs during court proceedings.
On September 18, Diddy’s attorney appealed the decision, but it was denied by Judge Andrew L. Carter. On September 30, the new legal team filed a notice of appeal regarding the no-bail order.
A summary of Diddy’s legal challenges
Diddy’s arrest on September 16 came after a Homeland Security raid on his mansions in March, where they reportedly uncovered evidence regarding “freak offs.”
The indictment alleges that Diddy orchestrated these “freak offs,”coercing women into elaborate sexual performances with male escorts.
These “freak offs”were also referenced in the November lawsuit filed by his former partner, Cassie Ventura, which initiated a series of legal troubles for the rapper. Ventura accused Diddy of rape and outlined a decade-long pattern of abuse and assault.
While Diddy has denied these allegations, a video from 2016 surfaced in May showing the rapper physically assaulting Ventura, captured by CCTV in the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.
Following Ventura’s lawsuit, multiple individuals have come forward with accusations against the rapper for sexual abuse and assault. Currently, Combs faces over 12 lawsuits, with the latest filed by an unnamed woman on September 27, who accused him of drugging her, impregnating her, and pressuring her to have an abortion.
This unnamed woman, who claims to have lost the baby in a miscarriage, alleged that the abuse continued for four years, from late 2020 until July 2024.
Sean Combs’ next hearing is scheduled for October 9, where he faces charges of “racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.”He has pleaded not guilty to these federal charges.
