Despite Steph Curry and Klay Thompson struggling to make consistent shots, the Warriors were able to secure a crucial win against the Mavs last night. Andrew Wiggins stepped up as an aggressive scorer, showcasing his natural ability as a former primary offensive option during his time with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Despite their narrow victory last night, Golden State’s record now stands at 41-34, which may not seem significant. However, it has allowed them to maintain a slight lead over the Houston Rockets as they steadily secure the tenth spot for the upcoming Play-In Tournament.

With seven games remaining in their season, the Warriors will heavily rely on Wiggins to be assertive on the offensive side. As both Curry and Thompson have been struggling as of late, the team may need to look to other players, such as the Canadian forward, to carry the majority of the scoring load.

Despite playing 66 games this season, Wiggins’ performance has been subpar. He currently holds averages of 13.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists, with a field goal percentage of 45.2%.

Andrew Wiggins praises Steph Curry’s impact on the team, disregarding his low-scoring game

Despite relying on Curry to lead them to significant victories, the Warriors were unable to do so last night as he struggled on the court, shooting only 5-18 from the field. Fortunately, Andrew Wiggins stepped up to support him and their combined efforts resulted in a win over Dallas.

Following the game, Wiggins praised the experienced point guard and acknowledged his crucial role in their achievements.

“Even when he’s not scoring the ball a lot or shots aren’t going in, he’s still the most dangerous person on the court,”Wiggins said (via Warriors on NBCS). “He attacks so much attention. He could miss 100 shots, and you still gotta play him and put two people on him because he’s that good and that dangerous.”

Despite his struggles, the one-time All-Star is not incorrect in stating that Curry continues to demand attention from the defense. His off-ball movement remains a threat that opposing teams cannot overlook, solidifying the two-time MVP as a constant problem for any defense.
