Blizzard Unveils Exciting Details About Diablo IV Season of Witchcraft
On January 21 at 10 AM Pacific Time, the much-anticipated Diablo IV Season of Witchcraft will launch, as announced during a recent live developer stream hosted by Blizzard Entertainment. One of the standout features making its debut in this season is the Armory, a groundbreaking addition that allows players to effortlessly switch between up to five different character builds while in towns. This feature is bound to individual characters, not the entire account, thus enhancing gameplay fluidity.
The Armory: A Game-Changer for Players
With the Armory, players can conveniently view key information about their currently selected build, including Equipment, Skills, and Paragon Nodes, alongside Glyphs. A notable enhancement is that players can toggle between loadouts without incurring any costs, making it easier to adapt to the challenges ahead. If a specific item within a saved loadout is missing—having been sold, traded, or salvaged—an alert icon will appear, keeping players informed about their item status.

New Features for Seasonal and Eternal Realms
The Armory will be accessible in both Seasonal and Eternal Realms. Players in the Eternal Realm can look forward to the permanent introduction of the Welcome Back Booster, which allows them to boost an Eternal Realm character to Level 50, outfitting them with Legendary Items and pre-set class skills.
Explore the Coven of the Witches of Hawezar
This season centers around the intriguing story of the Coven of the Witches of Hawezar, guardians of the Tree of Whispers. A mysterious occurrence has led to the disappearance of several heads, and players are tasked with assisting the Coven in uncovering the mystery through a new questline. This quest unlocks three fascinating types of witchy powers:
- Eldritch: Harness destructive magical energies.
- Psyche: Leverage mind and spirit-based powers to create visions and instill madness in foes.
- Growth & Decay: Utilize living magic that can heal or harm, manipulating health and resources for strategic advantage.
Discovering Lost Powers and Occult Gems
In this season, players may stumble upon mystical powers that the Coven had thought lost. To unlock these powers, they will need to locate Forgotten Altars hidden within randomly generated dungeons. In addition, new seasonal items known as Occult Gems will be introduced. These socketable items will provide players with extra affixes and integrate Witchcraft tags into their Skills, further enhancing gameplay dynamics. Obtaining Occult Gems involves completing Whisper Bounties and retrieving Fugitive Heads from Headhunts.

New Legendary Runes for Enhanced Gameplay
Finally, Season of Witchcraft introduces three new Legendary Runes tailored for players who own the Vessel of Hatred expansion. The first rune, Nagu, generates 100 Offering but requires players to maintain at least one active Summon for a minimum of five seconds, granting Offering for each Summon up to six. The second rune, Igni, provides 25 Offering and accumulates additional Offering every 0.3 seconds, requiring players to cast a non-basic skill to collect the stored Offering (up to 500). Lastly, the Invocation Rune called Chac costs 25 Offering to summon Druid Lightning Bolts, delivering a powerful strike to a nearby enemy for 220% weapon damage. This addition is certain to spice up combat strategies.
As gamers eagerly await the launch, there’s much to be excited about in the Diablo IV Season of Witchcraft. From the innovative Armory feature to the new storyline and powers, players will find plenty of opportunities for thrilling gameplay.
