Diablo 4 Reintroduces March of the Goblins Event

Overview of the March of the Goblins Event

  • The March of the Goblins event introduces a reputation track, along with new rewards and permanent Treasure Goblins.
  • Players can now hunt for various new Goblin variants such as the Gilded Baron and Odious Ector.
  • This exciting event is scheduled to take place from March 4 to March 11.

Diablo 4 is set to reignite the March of the Goblins event with exciting new elements, including a detailed reputation track and additional rewards. With the ongoing Season 7—now extended by two weeks—Blizzard aims to ensure players remain engaged through new features and events during this period.

Currently, players are immersed in the Season of Witchcraft, which highlights the Tree of Whispers and introduces powers reminiscent of the Witch Doctor class from Diablo 3. Fans have also welcomed the introduction of a much-requested feature: the Armory. This allows players to save and seamlessly switch between five different loadouts, enhancing the gameplay experience. Notably, the Armory feature will be available in both Seasonal and Eternal Realms, even after the season concludes.

As March approaches, Blizzard is bringing back the March of the Goblins event, anticipated to commence on March 4 and conclude on March 11. Similar to previous occurrences, players can expect a surge in Treasure Goblin appearances. However, this iteration will also feature new types of Treasure Goblins that will become permanent residents in Sanctuary after the event wraps up.

New Goblin Variants Introduced in Diablo 4

  • Odious Ector: Known for dropping valuable crafting materials, including Obducite in Torment tiers.
  • Gilded Baron: This variant provides gold coins and Aberrant Cinders, especially during Helltides.
  • Glittering Prym: Offering coveted gems, Runes, and Scattered Prisms.
  • Curious Murl: A unique purple Goblin that holds Obols.
  • Gelatinous Syrus: Upon defeat, this Goblin splits into several others, offering Legendary items and more.
  • Fancy Old Fedric: An exceedingly rare Goblin featuring Mythic Unique items along with a Resplendent Spark.

This event not only features new Goblins to hunt but also introduces a reputation and rewards system. Players will accumulate reputation points for every Goblin defeated, which can be redeemed for enticing rewards such as the rare Resplendent Spark. Furthermore, as they ascend through ranks, players can enhance their chances of acquiring Treasure Bags from these Goblins.

Looking ahead, it will be intriguing to see if Blizzard continues to incorporate such events more regularly during seasons. The company recently announced that Diablo 4 will not see a new expansion launch in 2025, suggesting that players will need to wait until 2026 for a second expansion. Specific reasons for this delay have not been disclosed, nor has the theme for the upcoming expansion been revealed, leaving the community eager for more information.
