As players explore the vast world of Diablo 4, they quickly discover that dungeons serve as excellent venues for gaining experience points (XP) and acquiring valuable loot. While many dungeons are worth farming multiple times for their benefits, the natural reset timer can hinder a player’s ability to grind efficiently. Fortunately, for solo adventurers, there is a reliable method to bypass this restriction and reset dungeons instantly.
Throughout its seasons, Diablo 4 has undergone significant adjustments to its Nightmare Dungeons, impacting the normal variants as well. These updates encompass modifications to rewards, dungeon layouts, and particularly the reset mechanics. Resetting dungeons has become simpler than ever, allowing players to farm resources like XP, loot, and Obducite effectively. This guide will walk you through the steps necessary to reset dungeons instantly, particularly for the latest 2.1.0 version of the game.
Resetting Dungeons Instantly as a Solo Player

To reset dungeons immediately, solo players need to follow a straightforward procedure. Begin by opening the map screen and selecting the Reset Dungeons button located beneath the quests tab. If you are currently inside a dungeon, you will first need to exit the dungeon. You can do this quickly by opening your map and clicking on the dungeon’s entrance to teleport there.
It’s important to note that resetting a Nightmare Dungeon will cause it to close, which means you will forfeit the Nightmare Sigil used to enter it. Should you wish to explore the same dungeon again, you will require an additional sigil. Generally, there is little incentive to reset Nightmare Dungeons, unless you have specific goals in mind.
While a Nightmare Dungeon is active, you can also activate a new Nightmare Sigil, which will close the existing dungeon and allow you to enter a new one immediately.

The choice of which dungeons to reset largely depends on the rewards available in the current season. For instance, during Season 7, select dungeons offered a rare chance to uncover a Forgotten Altar containing exclusive Lost Witchcraft Powers. Alternatively, if your goal is simply to maximize XP and loot, targeting dungeons in Nahantu that feature straightforward or smaller layouts may prove more efficient.
