Michał Nowakowski, Joint CEO, emphasized that The Witcher 4 aims to surpass its predecessors in both scope and quality. He stated, “It will be better, bigger, and greater than The Witcher 3, and we are determined not to repeat the mistakes of past releases.”This commitment to excellence is foundational to the studio’s ethos, as they continuously strive for innovation while maintaining an ambitious vision.

Technological Advancements: Transitioning to Unreal Engine 5

A significant shift in development tools is underway, with CD Projekt RED moving from its in-house RED Engine to Epic’s Unreal Engine 5 for The Witcher 4. Charles Tremblay, VP of Technology, expressed pride in their previous engine achievements, particularly with Cyberpunk 2077. However, he pointed out the challenges of managing multiple projects under a single technology. The adoption of UE5 promises a more streamlined collaboration among developers, allowing expertise and resources to be shared more effectively across various teams.
