Details on King Von’s Shooting Incident and the Arrests of Lil Durk and OTF Members

On October 24, notable rapper Lil Durk was apprehended in Florida, allegedly for attempting to murder the individual believed to be responsible for the death of King Von, a close friend of Durk’s. Reports from Fox 5 San Diego on October 25 indicate that Durk faces charges related to a murder-for-hire scheme.

King Von, who had a strong bond with Durk, was tragically killed on November 6, 2020, by a member of Quando Rondo’s entourage. Following the arrest, an official court indictment revealed that,

“Co-Conspirator 1 communicated in, coded terms, that they would offer a financial incentive to anyone willing to participate in the killing of [Quando Rondo] for his role in [King Von’s] murder.”

At approximately 2:15 AM, King Von was shot and killed in Atlanta. This incident unfolded outside the Monaco hookah lounge situated in Atlanta, Georgia, amidst a confrontation between Von’s group and that of rapper Quando Rondo. According to a report by Complex in August 2023, Rondo’s associate, Lul Timm, allegedly fired multiple shots at Von, escalating the argument into violence.

Late Thursday night, rapper Lil Durk was taken into custody in Florida, merely hours following the arrests of several associates allegedly connected to him. The Grammy-awarded artist is currently facing charges tied to a murder-for-hire plan targeting rapper Quando Rondo, linked to the 2020 murder of rising star King Von in Atlanta.

The singer of “All My Life”is now incarcerated without bail at Broward County Jail in Florida. An indictment obtained by TMZ, dated October 24, reveals that several federal charges were filed in US District Court in Los Angeles against individuals including Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston, for assisting Durk in his alleged plot.

Having known Durk since childhood, King Von was a loyal friend and later joined Durk’s label, Only the Family, after being released from prison in December 2017. This marked the beginning of his music career, during which he launched several successful singles.

His debut single, “Beat Dat Body,”was released on June 17, 2018, featuring fellow Chicago rapper THF Zoo. Soon after, Von appeared on the album “Lil Durk Presents: Only The Family Involved,”which significantly advanced his career with its release on July 31, 2018.

Following this, he collaborated with Lil Durk on multiple tracks and videos, including the hit “Crazy Story 2.0,”released in May 2019 alongside its music video on May 20, 2019. Additionally, they released a combined single titled “Like That”on July 9, 2019.

On March 6, 2020, Von unveiled his second mixtape, “Levon James,”which included features from artists like NLE Choppa, Tee Grizzley, G Herbo, Lil Durk, YNW Melly, Booka600, and Yungeen Ace, under the Only the Family label, with 16 tracks executive produced by Chopsquad DJ.

Later, on July 27, 2020, he dropped a collaboration with Durk named “All These Ni*gas.”He further partnered with Only the Family to release his debut studio album “Welcome to O’Block,”which featured Durk, on October 30, 2020.

Just over six weeks after Von’s passing, Lil Durk honored his legacy by releasing the album “The Voice”on December 24, 2020, which has Von’s image on the cover and includes the track “Still Trappin.”

Lul Timm, real name Timothy Leeks, known as an associate of Rondo, faced allegations of shooting and killing King Von. However, on August 20, 2023, an attorney for Timm, Noah Pines, stated in a statement to XXL that all charges against him were dismissed. Pines noted,

“The case against Mr. Leeks was dismissed prior to any indictment ever taking place.”

As reported by XXL, Lul Timm was released from Fulton County Jail in March 2021 after posting a $100,000 bond and awaiting trial for the shooting while on bail. Yet, in 2023, news surfaced indicating that the charges had been officially dropped.
