Destiny 2: Bungie Reveals Gameplay for Star Wars-Inspired Expansion ‘Renegades’

Destiny 2’s Exciting New Expansion: Renegades Unveiled

Today, Bungie revealed an exhilarating glimpse of the upcoming Star Wars-themed expansion for Destiny 2, titled Renegades, during a live streaming event. This announcement came alongside the launch of the latest update, Ash & Iron, marking a significant milestone in the game’s ongoing narrative known as the Year of Prophecy.

Highlights from the Live Stream

The expansion Renegades was initially teased earlier this year during Bungie’s Edge of Fate event, which introduced the previous expansion released this past July. Scheduled for launch on December 2, Renegades has generated significant excitement among fans, especially after showcasing gameplay that mirrors the essence of Star Wars. Players can expect iconic elements such as lightsabers, Imperial-style walkers, blasters reminiscent of the movie series, and thrilling X-Wing starfighters.

Diving into the ‘Lawless Frontier’

Within the Lawless Frontier, players will engage in a variety of high-stakes contracts involving smuggling, bounty hunting, and sabotage. These missions can be tackled individually or with a team, adding a layer of cooperative gameplay.

Players will journey across three planets, exploring six maps that blend the classic Destiny aesthetic with fresh Star Wars-inspired visuals. This innovative approach reflects Bungie’s effort to seamlessly integrate Star Wars motifs into the Destiny universe with this new expansion.

Ash & Iron Update and Upcoming Features

In addition to the excitement surrounding Renegades, the Ash & Iron update has brought players back to the Plaguelands for the first time since the original Destiny. This update introduces a new activity designed for three-person fireteam collaborations, reinvigorates the rewards pass for Edge of Fate, and sets the stage for an epic new raid set to launch on September 27, featuring the challenging The Desert Perpetual.
