Actor Denzel Washington reportedly confronted disgraced hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy”Combs during an all-night party way back in 2003. On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Us Weekly published an article citing a source familiar with the rapper’s circle from the early 2000s. According to the insider, at one point in the heated argument, Washington exclaimed, “You don’t respect anyone.”
While the specific cause of the disagreement remains uncertain, the source claimed the incident ended with the Oscar-winning actor walking out.
“(Denzel and his wife, Pauletta) had been partying until dawn (with Diddy), and they had seen something and stormed out,”Us Weekly reported.
Despite this altercation, the two high-profile figures continued to maintain their friendship, making appearances together at various public events, such as sports games and even at Barack Obama’s 2009 inauguration.
This revelation comes on the heels of Diddy’s recent arrest over serious allegations including racketeering, sexual trafficking, and facilitating prostitution.
Texas Lawyer Announced Representation of 120 New Alleged Victims of Diddy, Including Minors
In response to Diddy’s recent indictment, Texas attorney Tony Buzbee announced he is representing 120 new alleged victims, of which 25 were minors at the time of the reported abuses, with the youngest being a 9-year-old boy. During a press conference, Buzbee explained that his clients, who are located throughout the U.S., came forward after the rapper’s arrest.
Buzbee also claimed that more minors might come forward, emphasizing his desire to expose those who “enabled”the rapper’s behavior for so long, but he stated he wants to be “damn sure”before naming anyone.
Diddy’s arrest is part of a federal investigation into sexual trafficking, following multiple lawsuits alleging rape and abuse against the rapper, including a high-profile suit by his ex, Cassie Ventura, filed in November 2023.
The investigations prompted authorities to raid Diddy’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami, where they reportedly seized AR-15 rifles, large-capacity magazines, and over 1000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant.
One of the key points in the indictment mentions Combs’ so-called “freak off”parties, where he allegedly “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others”into participating in sexual activities for his and his guests’ amusement.
Diddy is notoriously known in the industry for hosting extravagant parties frequented by A-list celebrities. Notably, Denzel Washington attended Diddy’s 40th birthday bash at New York’s Plaza Hotel in 2009, which many considered the “party of the century.”
In light of the current situation, comedian Brandon T. Jackson‘s remarks on the Breaking the Machine podcast earlier this year gained significant attention. Jackson recounted the advice Denzel Washington once gave him, urging him to leave Hollywood parties “before the devil gets there.”
“Denzel always told me, (when) we be at the parties, ‘You leave 30 minutes before the devil get there. OK?’ Always remember that Denzel would leave the parties early,”Jackson shared.
Jackson isn’t the only celebrity to comment on the tendency to leave Diddy’s parties early. Just weeks before Diddy’s arrest, actor and comedian Marlon Wayans remarked during an interview with Club Shay Shay that he attended Diddy’s parties but left early, thus remaining unaware of any dubious activities taking place.
Emily Wolff, a member of Diddy’s legal team, “emphatically and categorically”denied all allegations against the hip-hop mogul. After being denied bail twice, Diddy is currently being held at a Brooklyn Detention Center as he awaits trial. If convicted, he could face a prison sentence of 15 years to life.
