
Dell has expanded its renowned Alienware lineup with the introduction of two new Aurora gaming laptop models that harness the power of the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 GPU, accompanied by Intel processors.

The anticipated GeForce RTX 5060 GPU is poised to make its debut across both desktop and laptop platforms. NVIDIA will officially announce the desktop variant on May 19th, coinciding with the launch of new gaming laptops from various manufacturers, including Dell. Among these, Dell’s latest additions to the Alienware family are generating considerable excitement.
The new Alienware 16 and Alienware 16X laptops will be equipped with the RTX 5060 mobile GPU, featuring an impressive 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM. While both devices incorporate Intel CPUs, the more powerful Alienware 16X will utilize the Core Ultra 9 275HX, whereas the standard Alienware 16 will be equipped with the more economical Core 9 270H processor, part of the Raptor Lake-H refresh series.

The Core 9 270H processor features a hybrid architecture with 14 cores, catering to mid-range gaming and productivity demands. In contrast, the Core Ultra 9 275HX is a powerhouse boasting 24 cores from the advanced Arrow Lake-HX family, delivering superior capabilities for intensive tasks and enhanced productivity. Additionally, gamers can opt for various GPU configurations, ranging from RTX 4050 to RTX 5070, with prices starting at $1, 149 for a more budget-friendly option paired with the Core 7 240H.

The entry-level model, the Alienware 16, is available for $1, 599, boasting 16GB of DDR5 memory and a spacious 1TB SSD for storage. On the other hand, the Alienware 16X, which steps up with double the RAM and storage capacity, is priced at $1, 949. A closer examination of Dell’s product specifications reveals an assortment of differences in core hardware and connectivity options. Externally, they present a similar aesthetic, differentiated primarily by the RGB-backlit keyboard exclusive to the 16X model.
In terms of connectivity, the Alienware 16X provides an advanced Thunderbolt 4 (40 Gbps) port with DisplayPort 2.1 support, while the Alienware 16 is equipped with USB Type-C ports offering 10 Gbps. Furthermore, the 16X offers enhanced camera capabilities, allowing video recording at 1080p at 30fps, compared to the 720p recording available on the Alienware 16. Both models uphold modern connectivity standards with Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7 functionality.
Currently marked as “Sold Out, ”these gaming laptops remain unavailable due to a launch embargo scheduled to be lifted on May 19th.
