Delay of 33-Player Co-op Action Game ’33 Immortals’ Pushed to 2025
Thunder Lotus Games, the creative force behind titles like Jotun, Sundered, and Spiritfarer, is in the process of developing an exciting new project that emphasizes cooperative gameplay within a roguelike framework. Initially revealed during the 2023 Microsoft Xbox Games Showcase, their upcoming game, 33 Immortals, was set to undergo playtesting on Xbox as it geared up for an early access rollout in 2024. However, the launch has now been postponed.
In a recent update via their social media channels, the developer announced that the game’s release has been shifted to 2025. While the early access format remains in place, the team indicated that they need additional time to refine the game’s experience and incorporate feedback gathered from recent testing sessions.
“We believe the game requires a bit more time before it’s fully prepared for launch. There’s significant progress being made, but this year has passed swiftly,”shared Thunder Lotus Games. “We aim to resolve a few unforeseen stability issues and take into account the invaluable insights we’ve received during testing.”
While the studio has yet to announce a specific release date within 2025, they are planning to provide more opportunities for players to experience the game soon. Up until now, playtests have been limited to Xbox players on Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S, but the next testing phase will extend access to users on the Epic Games Store.
“We are profoundly thankful for the ongoing support from this incredible community,”the team at 33 Immortals expressed. “Your enthusiasm, feedback, and participation have been a source of true inspiration and have guided our efforts to create something remarkable.”
The 33-player cooperative game is currently slated for release on PC through the Microsoft Store and Epic Games Store, as well as Xbox Series X|S. It will also be included in the Xbox Game Pass and available for Xbox Cloud Play.
