“Definitely Disappointed”— Love is Blind’s Brittany Opens Up About Breakup with Leo
Brittany Wisniewski and Leo Braudy, engaged contestants from the seventh season of Love Is Blind, have shared insights about their relationship and subsequent breakup following their experience on the show.
After the couple’s engagement was made public, fans of the popular Netflix series were curious about the abrupt halt in their storyline. The evident discomfort during their initial meeting hinted at the challenges they would face in their short-lived commitment.
In a conversation with People on October 2, 2024, Brittany expressed her feelings of being “definitely disappointed” when it was revealed that production would no longer cover their journey as a couple.
“But I knew we were the weakest link. Honestly, I was the only one who didn’t reciprocate the ‘I love you’ to my fiancé, so I wasn’t really shocked,”she added.
Though Brittany and Leo made a mutual choice to conclude their engagement, they have clarified the circumstances surrounding their split.
Understanding Brittany and Leo’s bond in Love Is Blind
During their time in the pods on Love Is Blind season 7, Leo and Brittany established a significant connection. When reflecting on his feelings, Leo remarked:
“She really balanced me out… She felt like home.”
Brittany, too, noted that Leo embodied qualities she sought in an ideal partner.
“He’s emotionally intelligent… we just connected on a spiritual level,” she remarked.
Despite the profound emotional connection, the dynamics of their relationship began to change once they met face-to-face.
Right from their first in-person encounter, the tension was palpable, with Leo acknowledging a noticeable disconnection. “I was ecstatic to see her, but there was definitely some awkwardness,”he confessed. Brittany, meanwhile, revealed that she felt overwhelmed by the proposal and couldn’t shake the feeling that “this isn’t my husband.”
The Miami breakup
After their reveal, Brittany and Leo did not follow the typical trajectory of post-reveal couples on Love Is Blind. Unlike other engaged duos who embark on romantic getaways, producers informed them that their story would not continue to be filmed.
Both expressed dismay, with Leo stating, “I was completely crushed.”
During a brief trip to Miami after their time on the show, the couple came to the realization that their engagement would not lead to marriage. Leo shared,
“We had many discussions throughout the journey and mutually decided that we didn’t envision it progressing to marriage.”
Brittany supported this sentiment, noting, “The chemistry simply wasn’t there.”
Lessons learned from Love Is Blind
In retrospect, both Brittany and Leo recognized the significant lessons gained from their experience on Love Is Blind. For Leo, it emphasized the significance of vulnerability and staying true to one’s emotions. He reflected on how his indecisiveness created unnecessary pressure and stated,
“I’ll certainly avoid putting myself in a position where I’m as conflicted as I was.”
Brittany viewed her experience as a critical point in her personal growth. She expressed, “I learned the value of better communication,”and noted that she emerged with increased confidence and understanding of her own feelings.
The pair affirmed that there is no bitterness between them post-breakup, and both treasure the insights gained during their time on the show.
Episodes 1-6 of Love Is Blind season 7 can be streamed on Netflix, with episodes 7-9 set to release on Wednesday, October 9.
