Ziocropos is a powerful boss known for its ability to inflict substantial physical damage. It can target multiple members of your party simultaneously, resulting in devastating blows if you aren’t adequately prepared. An additional threat is its ability to summon clones that can also perform strong attacks and inflict debuffs on your team.

Optimal Archetypes

Choosing the correct archetypes is vital for managing Ziocropos’ strengths and mitigating its damaging physical attacks. Here are the archetypes you should consider:

1) Summoner:

  • Function: Primary DPS (Wind damage)
  • Key Skills: Summon Eagle King, Summon Eagle Lion King (Synthesis)

The Summoner is central to your approach against Ziocropos in Metaphor ReFantazio. The Summon Eagle King skill, particularly in its synthesis form, Summon Eagle Lion King, deals enormous Wind damage that Ziocropos is particularly susceptible to. This ability also decreases Ziocropos’ attack strength, hence lessening the healing burden on your team.

2) Berserker:

  • Function: Secondary DPS (Pierce damage)
  • Key Skill: Wild Boar (Synthesis)

With Ziocropos’ vulnerability to Pierce damage, the Berserker archetype proves to be a strong ally in this battle. The Wild Boar synthesis skill inflicts significant Pierce damage and further debuffs Ziocropos’ attack power. Pairing this with the debuff effects from the Summoner will greatly enhance your team’s safety by minimizing the boss’ offensive threat.

3) Seeker (including Soul Hacker or others from the Seeker lineage):

  • Function: DPS/Support
  • Key Skill: Seeker’s Gale

If applicable, include a Seeker in your lineup for their useful Gale ability. While not as pivotal as the Summoner, it provides additional Wind damage, speeding up Ziocropos’ defeat in coordination with your other attacks.

4) Masked Dancer with Healer Mask:

  • Function: Healer/Support

Given Ziocropos’ potential for high physical output, securing a reliable healer is essential. Opting for a Masked Dancer equipped with a Healer Mask is a strategic choice, allowing for diverse healing methods while providing team support. Maintaining your party’s health is critical, especially in prolonged encounters where Ziocropos may endure longer than anticipated.

Essential Items

Before initiating the battle, ensure you have stockpiles of items capable of inflicting AoE Wind damage, along with healing supplies. Ziocropos in Metaphor ReFantazio can be incredibly aggressive, thus, it’s prudent to have additional healing resources aside from your main healer.

The Boss Fight

At the start of the encounter, Ziocropos does not initiate an attack but chooses instead to summon a clone. This moment offers an excellent opportunity to inflict damage. Focus solely on damaging Ziocropos on your initial turn. Once the clone is on the field, switch your focus to simultaneous healing and attack strategies.

Prepare your healer for Ziocropos’ AoE strikes, ensuring your team is restored health whenever necessary. While your healer sustains the party, the remaining members should consistently chip away at Ziocropos’ health. Utilize any crowd control abilities available to your team to keep one of the Ziocropos occupied, allowing other members to concentrate on dealing damage to a single target at a time.
