Defeating Smog the Cloud Boss in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Guide
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is the newest installment in Nintendo’s beloved franchise, allowing players to control Princess Zelda as she explores the expansive map of Hyrule. Throughout the campaign, players can engage in various side quests, collect numerous items, and battle a wide array of enemies.
One of the formidable foes faced by players in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a mini-boss known as Smog, often referred to as the Cloud Boss, located in the Eastern Temple region of Hyrule. Defeating Smog is a challenge divided into three parts, and completing this battle wraps up the “Let’s Play a Game”side quest while rewarding players with valuable prizes.
How to Locate and Defeat Smog in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Before initiating the battle, it is crucial to note that this confrontation occurs in three phases. Smog moves either vertically or horizontally and can deal electric damage to Zelda upon contact. The smaller clouds Smog splits into will continuously launch Lightning Orbs, which players must dodge to avoid significant damage.
Phase 1: Attacking in Swordfighter Form
In the first phase, Smog is entirely resistant to standard attacks. To successfully engage him, players should switch to Zelda’s Swordfighter form, which provides a bow. Players should launch several arrows at Smog; when he flashes white, it indicates that he is taking damage. Hitting him with enough arrows will force him to separate into three smaller clouds.
Phase 2: Merging the Clouds
The Swordfighter form is ineffective against the three cloud types, so players must make them collide to proceed. Zelda can strategically use boulders and objects like Pots to block their paths and cause a collision.
After merging the clouds, players can target Smog again in Swordfighter form. Hitting him will cause him to break apart into five clouds this time.
Phase 3: Merging the Clouds for the Final Time and Defeating Smog
Similar to the previous phase, the clouds need to collide once more to damage Smog. Players should be cautious of the Orbs that are fired and utilize boulders or Echoes like Pots to help with the cloud merging strategy.
Once the five clouds merge successfully, Zelda can unleash a flurry of arrows at Smog using the Swordfighter form. The battle concludes when players finally defeat the boss.
Rewards for Defeating Smog in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Victorious players will complete the “Let’s Play a Game”quest assigned by NPC Sago in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, earning them Rupees and one Heart Piece as rewards. Additionally, after the battle, speaking with Sago will grant Zelda an Ancient Charm accessory, significantly enhancing her defensive capabilities.
