Dead by Daylight, Among Us, and More Deliver April Fools Day Gags You Can Actually Play

Today is April Fools Day, which is often considered the most annoying day of the year. In case you haven’t checked the calendar and are wondering about all the craziness, it’s a day when people play pranks on each other. While some jokes, like CDPR’s floppy disc edition of Cyberpunk 2077, can be fun, many are just not that great or even worse, they tease something exciting but then reveal it was all a joke.

Fortunately, certain studios have recognized that many individuals are tired of the traditional April Fools’ approach and have taken the initiative to create pranks that are actually interactive! So, if you’ve had enough of being the butt of the joke, here are some gags that will actually give you something to enjoy…

Unleash the Oni: A Guide to Playing Dead by Daylight’s Newest Killer

This temporary game mode for Dead by Daylight increases the size of The Oni Killer to giant proportions, while simultaneously reducing the size of the Survivors, giving you the ability to crush them like insects. This mode will only be accessible until April 3, so make sure to take advantage of it while you still can!

Among Us – Extended Gameplay Mode

For April Fools Day, Among Us consistently delivers an enjoyable playable mode, and this year is no exception with the introduction of Long Mode. This mode transforms the crewmates into long, snake-like characters for a unique gameplay experience. Long Mode will be accessible in the game until April 8th.

Switching Sides: The Ultimate Betrayal in For Honor

All the weapons have been swapped! Vikings are wielding katanas, Raiders have parasols, and so on. This offer is only valid until tomorrow, so take advantage of it now.

Feathered Friends

Have you ever imagined playing a survival game as a duck armed with a gun? If not, it’s unfortunate because Duckside is a real game created by TinyBuild, the developers of Hello Neighbor. It is set to have playtesting in the near future.

Aside from the playable gags mentioned above, there are also some that are not currently available, but may potentially be added in the future. One example is Palworld: More Than Just Pals, a dating simulation game inspired by the popular Pokemon franchise, which the developers appear to be teasing with some seriousness. It is safe to say that there would be a significant audience for such a game.

After making it through the majority of April Fools Day 2024, did you have a good time? Did any pranks make you laugh? You are welcome to share them in the comments.
