DayZ’s Frostline Expansion Launches with Expansive New Frozen Territory

DayZ, the acclaimed survival title developed by Bohemia Interactive, has officially exited early access for six years and is back with its second expansion, titled Frostline. This paid update introduces an entirely new map set in a frigid volcanic archipelago.

Welcome to Sakhal, a stunning 83km² snow-laden archipelago (excluding the expansive ice sheets) presenting a captivating winter wilderness filled with fresh survival challenges and possibilities. Prepare for an immersive experience where the environment turns into as much of a foe as the infected and other survivors.

The frosty expanses of the Sakhal landscape promise perils beyond just wildlife threats. Players will encounter new towering mountains to scale, abandoned settlements to explore, extensive ice fields, and a deserted naval base, along with numerous points of interest to scour for supplies, whether scavenging alone or teaming up with friends.

In addition to the ever-present zombie threat, Bohemia has added new survival features that compel players to focus on warmth and resources. For instance, players will need to engage in hunting to survive these icy environments. Exciting new gameplay elements include drivable rubber boats, winter-themed infection types, revamped fishing mechanics, and other enhancements within the expansion.
