David Cronenberg’s The Shrouds Set for U. S.Release
Renowned filmmaker David Cronenberg is poised to re-enter the spotlight with his newest project, The Shrouds. Known for his contributions to the horror genre through classic films such as Shivers, Rabid, Videodrome, and The Fly, Cronenberg took a hiatus from horror after his 1999 work, eXistenZ. He continued to explore complex themes in films like Eastern Promises, A Dangerous Method, and Maps to the Stars. However, his triumphant return to body horror came with the unsettling yet captivating 2022 film Crimes of the Future. With The Shrouds, which showcases Vincent Cassel portraying a grieving inventor creating technology to monitor the decomposition process of deceased loved ones, Cronenberg further solidifies his resurgence in the genre.
