On October 20, 2024, Texas attorney Tony Buzbee initiated a series of six lawsuits against Sean “Diddy”Combs, filed in the New York Federal Court, invoking the protections outlined in the New York City Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act.
Among the serious allegations is a claim that Diddy raped a 13-year-old girl during the after-party of the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) that he hosted. The lawsuit details that Diddy, alongside another male celebrity, is accused of sexually assaulting the minor, with a female celebrity present at the scene. The plaintiff has opted to remain anonymous due to the nature of the allegations.
In the wake of these new accusations, social media has resurfaced a viral moment from the 2003 MTV VMAs, featuring Diddy inquiring whether young actress Daveigh Chase would be attending the after-party.
At that event, Daveigh Chase won the award for Best Villain for her portrayal of Samara in the 2002 horror hit, The Ring. Diddy and actor Ashton Kutcher were on stage to present her with the accolade.
A Reddit user, @KillerCroc1234567, shared insights on the @r/music subreddit, referencing Deadline’s coverage of the lawsuit and providing context on the alleged incidents.
Some commentators suggested that Ashton Kutcher was a potential accomplice of Diddy during the incident at the 2003 MTV event, as he was seen presenting the award to Chase.
As of now, Daveigh Chase has not made a public statement regarding the allegations against Diddy. An experienced child artist, she has been active in the entertainment industry since a young age, appearing in various films, TV series, and commercials.

Diddy’s recent legal issues concerning a 13-year-old allegation
Recently, Sean Combs faced six jury-seeking lawsuits, one accusing him of raping a 13-year-old at an after-party following the 2000 MTV VMAs. According to the legal documents sourced by Yahoo!, the young victim had arranged for a friend to drop her at Radio City Music Hall in New York City in hopes of sneaking into the VMAs after-party.
Reportedly without a ticket, she waited outside until she managed to talk her way inside with assistance from a limousine driver affiliated with Combs, who allegedly indicated that Diddy preferred younger girls, suggesting she met his preferences.
The lawsuit claims that the driver instructed her to return at 10 p.m., and upon her arrival, he reportedly escorted her alone in a black limousine to a residence that appeared to be the after-party venue. There, she was allegedly offered a drink that left her feeling disoriented and woozy.
After feeling lightheaded, she sought a place to rest and entered an empty room without locking the door. Soon after, Diddy and two other male celebrities entered the space. The lawsuit asserts that Diddy approached her aggressively, beckoning, “You are ready to party.”
“The Defendant aggressively approached Plaintiff with a crazed look in his eyes, grabbed her, and said, ‘You are ready to party,’”the lawsuit alleges.
As the situation escalated, one male celebrity, identified only as “Celebrity A,” attempted to undress her while she felt increasingly disoriented. The lawsuit claims that Celebrity A raped her while Diddy and another female celebrity, referred to as “Celebrity B,” looked on.
“After the male celebrity finished, Combs then… raped Plaintiff while Celebrity A and Celebrity B watched… Combs attempted to force Plaintiff to perform oral s*x on him, but she resisted by hitting Combs in the neck; he stopped,” according to court documents.
Ultimately, the young girl managed to escape the venue in distress and reached a gas station where a female clerk assisted her, allowing her to call her father. She confessed to him about her deceit regarding her whereabouts and requested a pick-up.
It has been mentioned in the lawsuit that the young victim was coerced into signing a non-disclosure agreement, of which she never received a copy. As a result of the assault, the now-37-year-old plaintiff has been reportedly grappling with enduring “deep depression”which has adversely affected her life.
To date, Diddy’s legal team has remained silent regarding the 19-page lawsuit but previously released a statement in response to Deadline’s report, asserting that their client has “never sexually assaulted anyone—adult or minor, man or woman.” They have further described Buzbee’s lawsuits as a “clear attempt to garner publicity.”
