Darrell from The Challenge Critiques Jordan and Nia for Targeting Him: “Going to Remember That”

The Challenge 40: Battle of Eras aired a new episode titled “Trust In Your Era”on MTV on October 2, 2024, at 8:00 ET/PT. In this thrilling episode, two contestants from Era 1, Darrell Taylor and Tina Barta, were eliminated after Era 4 competitors Kyland Young and Michele Fitzgerald emerged victorious in the elimination challenge.

In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly on the same day, Darrell reflected on his elimination and specifically addressed his friendship with fellow competitor Jordan. Darrell mentioned how he had saved Jordan in the past, yet felt that Jordan did not reciprocate when it was his turn to face elimination. He suggested that Jordan’s actions might have been influenced by his other alliances, saying:

“I’ve saved Jordan a few times and I’ve never been saved by Jordan. I’m still cool with him, but I’m starting to notice because he has all these friends, but for some reason he’s never scratched my back. So I’m going to remember that.”

The Challenge Star Darrell Discusses His Elimination and Jordan’s Actions

While discussing his elimination, Darrell expressed his confidence in his skills, believing that Era 1 had what it takes to win. He mentioned that he was not “intimidated”by Kyland and was instead motivated for “revenge,”stating:

“I was pretty confident. I knew I was going to win against Kyland. I knew it was math, but I know that I’m good at math. I wasn’t intimidated by him, even though he [beat me] when I came in as a mercenary. But I wanted my revenge.”

In a conversation with TV Insider, Taylor was questioned about his confidence in persuading others not to target him for elimination. He referenced the strong alliance between Nehemiah and Nia, indicating that their decision was already settled:

“Hell no, I didn’t think it was going to work. They had their mind made up from day one. Nehemiah [Clark] is so close to Nia [Moore], I knew that from the gate there’s no way.”

Darrell expressed frustration over Jordan and Nia attempting to “justify”their decision. After Jordan remarked that it was just a game, Darrell struggled to understand their attempts to ease tensions. He was convinced that he and Tina were destined for elimination.

Tina also added during an interview with Parade that Jordan and Nia led them to believe they had a chance to stay in the game, which was not true.

Darrell further elaborated to Insider that he preferred to “avoid”discussions after he and Tina were already out of the competition:

“I think it’s when they try to come and smooth it over and justify what they did, and Tina could smell the bullsh*t. It’s like, you already had your mind made up. Why are you trying to kiss my a** and try to make me feel better? That type of stuff. That’s why I avoided because I didn’t want to hear it. I already knew I was going in.”

Don’t miss out on the excitement of The Challenge 40: Battle of Eras, airing exclusively on MTV and available for streaming on Paramount Plus every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
