Darius Slay, Cole Beasley labeled as “losers” by fans for trolling Jared McCain’s finger nail polish: “What a weirdo”
Despite their status as professional athletes, Darius Slay and Cole Beasley should anticipate a negative reaction from fans if they choose to attend a Duke basketball game.
On Friday, Blue Devils guard Jared McCain, known for his meticulous nail care, announced that he had signed an NIL agreement with cosmetics company Sally Hansen. The two aforementioned NFL players then proceeded to ridicule him on social media, but their tweets have since been deleted.
Despite the fact that their responses were deleted, fans were still able to catch a glimpse and proceeded to criticize the two individuals. One fan even tweeted:
“His body his choice but what another man does with his mind is mindblowing to him. What a weirdo.”

What moves will the Eagles make to bolster their secondary behind Darius Slay?
Ever since being selected as the 36th overall pick by the Detroit Lions in 2013, Darius Slay has consistently proven to be one of the top defensive backs in the NFL. Despite this, his most standout performances have undeniably been with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he played a crucial role in their 2023 Super Bowl appearance.
As the year 2024 approaches, his team has undergone significant changes. In the previous season, safety Kevin Byard was acquired from the Tennessee Titans in a midseason trade, but only stayed for half a season before being released and joining the Chicago Bears. However, the Eagles were able to add another safety to their roster in C. J. Gardner-Johnson, who had previously played for the Lions during the 2023-24 season.
The group, which includes Reed Blankenship and Pro Bowler James Bradberry, is also anticipating that incoming sophomores Kelee Ringo and Sydney Brown will receive additional playing time.
At the annual league meetings, general manager Howie Roseman hinted at the potential of bolstering the secondary with additional depth both alongside and behind Darius Slay.
“We’ll see where it ends up here as we go through the process.”
According to Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report, there are two potential solutions for a contingency plan. One option is to trade up with the Seattle Seahawks during the first round of the upcoming draft, as Ballentine suggests:
“Quinyon Mitchell, Terrion Arnold and Kool-Aid McKinstry are all in our top 15. But they could all three be gone by the time the Jaguars get on the clock at 17… In this scenario, the Eagles take advantage of having two second-round picks while the Seahawks don’t have any.”
One option could be to acquire the Cleveland Browns’ Greg Newsome II through a trade. However, it should be noted that he is currently in the final year of his rookie contract, unless general manager Andrew Berry chooses to exercise his fifth-year option.
