The wait is finally over! Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) can rejoice as the first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again has officially been released. This highly anticipated preview reveals several intriguing aspects of the series: Wilson Fisk is now the mayor of New York City, Matt Murdock has stepped back from his role as Daredevil, and beloved characters Karen Page and Foggy Nelson are back in action. The trailer even hints at a connection to She-Hulk.
Daredevil’s reintroduction to the MCU is undeniably exciting. After a memorable cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which confirmed his transition from Netflix to the MCU, the character has made several appearances, including a fun role in the Disney series She-Hulk and a brief fight in Echo. Now, Daredevil is set to return with a dedicated series, Daredevil: Born Again, adding another chapter to his storied legacy.
The recently released trailer, filled with dynamic action sequences, provides fans with a taste of what lies ahead. It showcases familiar faces alongside Matt Murdock, including Foggy Nelson and Karen Page, portrayed once again by Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll. Additionally, the trailer hints at a return for iconic adversaries like Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye, reviving story arcs from the show’s Netflix days.
The Man Behind the Mask
Incorporating characters from his past on Netflix, the trailer also pays homage to Daredevil’s earlier MCU appearances, particularly his memorable stint on She-Hulk. A striking moment features a cabinet displaying multiple Daredevil masks, with the standout being the classic yellow mask that reflects his look from She-Hulk. Although the reception of the show varied among fans, many were excited to see this nod to the character’s origins. This design recalls the classic style introduced by Stan Lee and Bill Everett in 1964.
Alongside the yellow mask, the cabinet showcases two masks in various shades of burgundy, a black mask, and an intriguing silver one. While fans are accustomed to Daredevil’s signature black and burgundy motifs, the silver mask raises questions as it has not been part of his previous looks. This particular version could also reference alternate designs, such as the ‘Purified Daredevil’ featured in the 2023 comic Daredevil #6, where he dons a striking white outfit.
It remains uncertain whether these masks will make a physical appearance in the series or if Daredevil will opt for his traditional burgundy and black attire. Given the dark and intense tone reflected in the trailer, it’s likely he will stick to the more muted color palette.
