His distinguished career earned him the Best Rookie Award at the 9th Seiyū Awards in 2015.

Although Hanae has garnered a reputation as the signature voice for the archetypical “hero”character, he is also adept at portraying antagonists, recently voicing Gremmy Thoumeaux from BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War and the Shark Fiend Beam in Chainsaw Man. Given Okarun’s quirky and determined demeanor, casting Hanae for this role was undoubtedly a logical choice.

In contrast, Shion Wakayama (born February 10, 1998) represents a fresh face in the industry, having made her anime debut with the 2019 series Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise, where she voiced Hinata Mukai. Since then, she has taken on significant roles, including Aoi Aioi in Her Blue Sky, Shizuka Nanahoshi in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, and Takina Inoue in Lycoris Recoil. Wakayama’s impressive range was further demonstrated with her recent roles as Yukari in Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead and Lemon Yakishio in the upcoming series Too Many Losing Heroines.

“When I first picked up Dandadan, the first thing I thought was, ‘Whoa, isn’t this art incredibly beautiful?’ The draftsmanship was really high-level, and even the narrative’s pacing was very good. The feelings came through so well, I couldn’t put it down.”
