In recent years, Cyberpunk 2077 has undergone a remarkable transformation, receiving a multitude of enhancements, starting from its initial patches leading up to patch 1.6 and the highly anticipated version 2.0. The latter not only introduced the Phantom Liberty expansion but also completely overhauled the game experience. Following these upgrades, CD Projekt Red (CDPR) has rolled out the version 2.3 update, which, while not monumental, introduces some exciting new features and improvements, particularly the addition of four new vehicles.
In this guide, I will outline the official prerequisites provided by CDPR to unlock various vehicle-related quests, along with additional tips that may assist you if you find yourself unable to access these new features.
Unlocking the Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila
We begin with the Legatus 450, which can be easily acquired for 55, 000 Eurodollars via the AUTOFIXER website accessible from your apartment’s computer. At this point in the game, you may question whether this investment is worthwhile. However, considering the wealth you likely accrued during your adventures in Night City or through the Phantom Liberty DLC, this purchase could be a no-brainer.
The Legatus resembles a monster truck, towering over smaller vehicles with ease, and it possesses formidable armor and weaponry, making it an excellent choice for combat situations. The only downsides are its sluggish acceleration and cumbersome handling.
Unlocking the ARV-Q340 Semi Maru

---|
To initiate the side mission that unlocks the Semimaru, completing the aforementioned quests from River Ward’s storyline is essential. Be sure to complete all elements, including the romance story that follows, even if it isn’t explicitly listed in CDPR’s requirements.
If River fails to reach out immediately, take a moment to wait or sleep a few in-game days. Eventually, he should send you a text message, prompting you to embark on the quest for the Semimaru.
Completing the Side Job: The Motorbreath
When River contacts you about a stolen red Semimaru from the NCPD, head to the location marked on your map, which indicates the last known position of the vehicle along the highway.
Upon arrival, a thrilling chase sequence will unfold, with the Semimaru and its hijackers leading the way. This segment is primarily scripted: no matter how fast you drive, the car will remain ahead, resulting in reckless crashes; thus, it’s best to maintain a safe distance.
Gradually, you’ll find an opportunity to close the gap. At this point, you may engage the vehicle with your weapons or perform a drive-by shooting until the car is immobilized. This will pave the way for an upcoming battle against two foes, Jax Forgrave and his partner.
Defeating them can be accomplished with your vehicle’s armament or classic combat methods. Once they are dealt with, enter the vehicle, interface with it to inform River about the NCPD’s misuse of the Semimaru. Upon completion of the Motorbreath quest, you will officially be the new owner of this vehicle.
Completing the Optional Side Job: Where Eagles Dare
To customize the Semimaru’s paint job through the Crystalcoat feature, you’ll first need to reach out to Claire, the bartender and mechanic. This side job is relatively quick; Claire will provide the data for the Crystalcoat location.
You may encounter enemies at the designated spot, so defeat them using whatever method suits your playstyle. Locate the computer within the garage to engage in a Breach mini-game and extract the necessary data.
Return to your newly acquired Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru, and input the data to unlock the Crystalcoat feature, ultimately completing the Where Eagles Dare mission.
Unlocking the Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa

Prerequisites |
|
---|
To successfully unlock the Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa, you’ll need to receive an email on your apartment computer. You can easily satisfy the requirement for purchasing one Yaiba vehicle if you have acquired the beloved Yaiba Kusanagi bike.

The other requirements are straightforward; however, if the necessary email does not appear, consider waiting 24 in-game hours. Completing any significant side jobs or gigs may also help trigger it.
Completing the Side Job: Nitro (Youth Energy)

Once you receive the invitation email for the Yaiba Muramasa showroom event, you can choose to join from your apartment or travel to Kiroshi’s Campus. It’s worth mentioning that if you have modifications like the Browser Extension Mod installed, you may not see the showroom site on your computer’s NET interface.
I opted to attend from Kiroshi’s Campus since this workaround was necessary. Once there, find the booth and jack into the system to participate in the showroom event.

At the designated terminal, you can order the Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa, which is set at a cost of 95, 000 Eurodollars, not including any customizations. Don’t worry if you’re short on cash; you won’t have to make an upfront payment immediately.
After placing your order, exit the showroom and wait until the next business day for delivery. When prompted, head to the indicated location where you’ll be welcomed by a group of Kuroshi Robots.
Here, a biometric scanner will finalize your order. You can choose to pay the 95, 000 eddies now or return later when you’re ready to complete your purchase.
Unlocking the Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred”

Prerequisites |
|
---|
Completing the Side Job: Freedom

Prepare for a skirmish when you reach the location to take on several armed enemies. After neutralizing the threats, jack into the nearby computer to access and extract data related to the Mordred.
However, the task isn’t entirely straightforward. Once you finish checking the files, the Caliburn “Mordred”will attempt to flee. Deliver the unfortunate news to Reyes about the situation regarding the vehicle that originally belonged to Yorinobu Arasaka.
IMPORTANT: Do not leave the location, as doing so will forfeit your chance to pursue the Caliburn “Mordred”.

From the spot where the car was parked, you can find a workbench containing the Caliburn “Mordred”Skeleton Key, allowing you to track down the elusive vehicle.
Finding and Retrieving the Caliburn “Mordred”

Head to the location marked on your map to spot the Caliburn “Mordred.”Its erratic movements can be likened to an untamed animal, adding to the challenge of your mission.

Although the game does not clearly instruct you to do so, you will need to fire at the vehicle for a brief duration to halt its progress. Avoid stopping your vehicle directly in front of the Caliburn, as it will retaliate by ramming into you.
Once you commandeer the Caliburn “Mordred, ”prepare to evade the NCPD. Try to steer clear of the main roads or find a secluded hiding spot to successfully shake them off your tail.
Congratulations on acquiring the final vehicle introduced in the version 2.3 update and completing the Freedom side job in Cyberpunk 2077.
