NVIDIA DLSS 4 Update Now Available for Cyberpunk 2077
The latest patch for Cyberpunk 2077, designated as patch 2.21, has been released and features support for NVIDIA DLSS 4. This new iteration incorporates the Transformer model, which delivers significant enhancements in image quality compared to the previous DLSS 3.8 version.
What’s New in Patch 2.21?
This recently launched patch not only introduces NVIDIA DLSS 4 but also enhances several gameplay elements. Key updates include:
- New features in Photo Mode
- Improvements to vehicle color customization
- Randomizer settings during Character Creation
- A variety of miscellaneous bug fixes
Among these enhancements, the most noteworthy is the integration of DLSS 4 support, which allows for the new Multi Frame Generation feature optimized for the forthcoming RTX 50 series graphics cards. Players can now select either the traditional CNN model or the new Transformer model for various graphics options, including DLSS Super Resolution, DLAA, and Ray Reconstruction across all selected RTX graphics cards.
Performance and Visual Enhancements
As NVIDIA highlighted in recent discussions, the new DLSS 4 Transformer model provides remarkable improvements in image quality. A recent comparison video produced by MxBenchmarkPC showcases these advancements. While there is a minor performance trade-off with the Transformer model, the benefits are clear: ghosting effects are significantly reduced, resulting in a smoother, more detailed visual experience during motion. Additionally, anti-aliasing for distant objects has seen marked enhancements.
