Following its immense success with both viewers and critics alike, recent news reveals that a sequel to The Wild Robot is now underway, much to the joy of its fanbase.

As reported by Deadline in an article dated October 12, 2024, Chris Sanders, the director behind The Wild Robot, shared during a discussion at Deadline Contenders that plans for a sequel are currently being developed at DreamWorks Animation.

In his remarks to Deadline, Sanders confirmed:

“100% yes there are absolutely plans for a second one.”

Lupita Nyong’o voiced the lead character, ROZZUM unit 7134 (“Roz”), alongside her character ROZZUM unit 6262 (“Rummage”). Contributing significantly to the film’s heart, Pedro Pascal provided the voice for Fink, a clever red fox and one of Roz’s first companions.
