On the night of July 3, 2015, William Connole innocently left his home for a walk and tragically was shot at the intersection of East 1st Street and North St. Louis Avenue in Loveland, Colorado, at approximately 10:45 PM. Sadly, he suffered fatal injuries. Merely 15 minutes later, another shooting occurred when a motorcyclist was also shot but fortunately survived.

Upon the arrival of law enforcement, investigators quickly linked these two incidents and noted that several public shootings had transpired in the area prior to Connole’s murder. In the months leading up to this tragic event, other victims, such as Cori Romero, had also been shot, resulting in loss of life.

The sole lead available to law enforcement was an image of a pickup truck captured during the moment Parker shot Connole.

Following this lead, the authorities narrowed their search and eventually apprehended Christopher Parker, who faced charges for Connole’s murder.

Despite having no prior convictions, Christopher Parker had a substantial amount of forensic evidence against him, which was enough for law enforcement to charge him with the murder of Connole. Establishing a connection to the other shootings proved more challenging.

Initially charged with first-degree murder following deliberation, as well as attempted first-degree murder, his defense team contended that he faced multiple mental health challenges stemming from past traumatic experiences.

Eventually, in 2023, Parker negotiated a plea deal for second-degree murder, resulting in a 39-year prison sentence. He is currently incarcerated at the Buena Vista Correctional Complex, where he is expected to remain until at least his next parole hearing, scheduled for August 2046.
