Netflix has officially announced that Culinary Class Wars will return for a second season, following the show’s remarkable success across the globe. On October 15, 2024, the streaming service revealed that this popular South Korean cooking competition, which achieved the distinction of being the first Korean unscripted series to top Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English TV rankings, will be back.
According to the notice released on Netflix’s website, the second season is set to premiere in the latter half of next year, offering viewers even more exhilarating culinary challenges that will elevate the competition for the contestants as well as the audience. The announcement stated,
“Netflix is thrilled to confirm the production of Culinary Class Wars Season 2, following its extraordinary debut as the first Korean unscripted show to maintain the No. 1 position on the Global Top 10 Non-English TV list for three straight weeks. The inaugural season, which began airing on September 17, 2024, and concluded on October 8, 2024, captivated viewers with its exciting combination of intense rivalry and creative culinary challenges. The experienced judging panel comprised renowned restaurateur Baek Jong-won and Michelin-star chef Ahn Sung-jae, who provided their insights throughout the competition.
The series showcased a diverse lineup of 100 chefs, which included 80 local talents dubbed the Black Spoon chefs and 20 celebrity chefs known as the White Spoon chefs, all vying for culinary excellence.
