Until now, ElevenLabs’ offerings were confined to a web-based platform, which restricted mobile users to utilizing the features through a browser. However, with the new ElevenLabs app, users can generate audio content seamlessly anywhere, in an easy-to-use interface.

The app is available for free download on both Android and iOS platforms, offering 10 minutes of voice generation for users utilizing the free tier. Existing users can log in and pick up where they left off from any device.

New users are required to create an account to get started. Once registered, you can easily access the app’s features.

Input your text by typing it directly into the app or by copy-pasting it. You will notice a credit balance displayed at the bottom, indicating your initial monthly quota of 10, 000 credits. Should you require more, a subscription to ElevenLabs will be necessary.

Before you press Generate, here are a few essential steps to follow:

Begin by tapping the name displayed at the bottom (initially indicating the AI voice in use, such as ‘Daniel’).This allows you to change the AI voice that will narrate your text. Select a name from the Voices list to preview its sound and decide if it fits your needs. If it does, tap Select Voice to apply it.

Alternatively, you can browse the extensive library by clicking on Explore. Press the + icon to save any interesting voices you discover into My Voices.

If you’re on the hunt for specific voice styles, tap the controls icon in the upper right corner to apply filters and narrow your search.

Exploring V2 vs V3 Models

Return to the main screen and tap the controls icon to select your preferred voice model.

By default, the app sets the model to Multilingual v2. However, users can access the latest v3 alpha model, which boasts enhanced expressiveness. This model allows for customization of the Stability parameter and offers three modes: Creative (emotionally expressive), Natural (closest to the original voice), and Robust (very stable but less responsive).

A standout feature of the v3 model is its ability to convey emotions through textual tags. By placing these tags at the start of a sentence, you can direct the app to read the text in a “whispering” voice or with a “strong French accent.” Users can also enhance their voice output with various effects using similar tagging methods.

While the v2 model offers several customizations like Speed, Similarity, Style Exaggeration, and Stability, opting for the v3 model introduces a richer selection of expressive capabilities.

Once you’ve selected your desired model, the voice generation process takes only a few seconds. After the audio clip is created, tap the Share button to either save the clip to your device or share it via audio or video platforms.

Limitations of the ElevenLabs Mobile Application

Currently, the ElevenLabs mobile app has certain limitations compared to the full web version. Users are unable to create new sound effects or access the voice changer capability directly through the app. Additionally, features like ElevenLabs’ Studio or Dubbing services are not available on mobile.

Despite these limitations, the ElevenLabs mobile app provides users with a straightforward means of generating AI-driven speech-to-text content and offers access to a substantial library of diverse voices. Furthermore, it enables quick sharing to social media, facilitating a streamlined workflow.
