The Growth of the Spy x Family Franchise

Created by Tatsuya Endo, the Spy x Family manga began serialization on the Shonen Jump+ app in March 2019. Its biweekly releases have made it widely accessible, allowing readers around the world to engage with the content simultaneously in English. This franchise also boasts several light novel adaptations, further broadening its reach and appeal.
The Phenomenal Success of the Spy x Family Anime

A key factor behind the franchise’s explosive growth has been the anime adaptation. Shortly after the manga’s debut, an announcement confirmed that Spy x Family would transition to the screen, with production handled by CloverWorks and Wit Studio. The first season debuted in 2022, comprising 25 episodes.
The overwhelmingly positive reception of the initial season prompted an almost immediate announcement for the second season, which aired in 2023 and consisted of 12 episodes. Following its conclusion, the announcement for a film was made.
Titled Spy X Family Code: White, this film is an original story that is distinct from the manga’s plot. Moreover, preparations for the third season are already underway, with its release scheduled for October 2025.
Fans can enjoy Spy x Family through streaming on Crunchyroll.
