Could Apple Launch The OLED iPad Pro At Its WWDC 2024 Event?

Despite failing to announce any iPad upgrades last year, Apple seems to be taking its time yet again this year. The release of the OLED iPad Pro has faced numerous delays in the past, including another one just last week. Originally, it was expected to launch in the last quarter of 2023 alongside the M3 MacBook Pro models. However, the company decided to unveil the new M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max MacBook Pro models instead. Given the numerous delays, it is uncertain if Apple will finally launch the OLED iPad Pro models at its WWDC 2024 event.

Will the OLED iPad Pro be released at WWDC 2024 or face another delay?

Despite Apple’s reported plans to upgrade all iPad models in 2024, the company seems to be struggling with production and has yet to release any new iPads in the first quarter of this year. This raises the question of whether the iPad lineup is facing difficulties. However, it is expected that Apple will launch several new models including the OLED iPad Pro, iPad Air 6, iPad mini 7, and the 11th-gen iPad as part of its annual upgrade cycle in the coming months.

Despite initial expectations for the OLED iPad Pro to be released in late 2023 to early 2024, reports confirmed that the tablet failed to reach consumers during this time frame. Although it was originally slated for a late March or early April launch, recent reports have refuted this timeline. As of now, the new OLED iPad Pro models are anticipated to debut in early May, but there is a possibility for yet another unexpected delay as Apple works through OLED production challenges.

The company has announced that it will hold its WWDC event on June 10, 2024, during which it is expected to unveil updates for its devices, including iOS 18, macOS 15, watchOS 11, and iPadOS 18. The rumored launch of the OLED iPad Pro in May is just a month prior to WWDC, making it likely for Apple to announce the new product alongside the software updates in June. However, these are currently just speculations as the final decision lies with Apple.

Despite numerous delays in the release of the iPad Pro in recent months, it would not be unexpected for the company to push back its launch from early May to early June. Along with addressing OLED display concerns, Apple is also working on a specialized version of iPadOS specifically for the OLED iPad Pro. It is uncertain at this time if this new development will cause further delays for the OLED iPad Pro.
