Corsair Introduces the WS3000: A 3000W Power Supply Tailored for Workstations

Renowned hardware and peripheral manufacturer, Corsair, has unveiled a groundbreaking 3000W power supply designed to cater specifically to high-performance workstation builds. The newly launched WS3000 power supply diverges from conventional models, offering exceptional power for setups that utilize multiple GPUs, a key requirement for demanding tasks such as artificial intelligence and machine learning training.

This robust power supply unit can efficiently support up to four high-end GPUs, including the powerful GeForce RTX 5090. The WS3000 comes equipped with four native 12V-2×6 power connectors and is fully compliant with the ATX 3.1 standard. Additionally, it includes four traditional 8-pin PCIe connectors, which can be converted into eight 8-pin connectors using the four PCIe cables included in the package.

Despite its impressive power capacity, the WS3000 maintains a manageable size, measuring 175mm in length, 150mm in width, and 86mm in height. With the ability to deliver a maximum load of up to 250A on a single +12V rail, this power supply simplifies load distribution—ideal for applications demanding high power. To address potential heat accumulation, Corsair has utilized industrial-grade components and an effective cooling system.

One notable aspect of the WS3000 is its reliance on active cooling rather than a Zero RPM mode, which may deter those seeking silence. Featuring a single 140mm double ball bearing fan, the unit prioritizes reliability, ensuring effective temperature management even under considerable load. Corsair appears focused on delivering consistent performance over quiet operation.

It is crucial to note that the WS3000 is specifically designed for use with a 220-240V AC supply and is not compatible with 110/120V systems without a step-up converter or dual-voltage support. Priced at $599, the WS3000 includes a generous 10-year warranty, reflecting Corsair’s commitment to quality.
