Corsair Launches Mac-Specific Gaming Keyboard and Mouse
Corsair has introduced new gaming peripherals designed specifically for Mac users: the K65 Plus wireless gaming keyboard and the M75 wireless gaming mouse. These products feature tailored color options and modifications that enhance their compatibility with Apple’s ecosystem.
K65 Plus Wireless Gaming Keyboard Features
The K65 Plus boasts a 75% tenkeyless layout, making it an ideal choice for both gamers and typists seeking a space-saving solution. This keyboard is equipped with Corsair’s innovative pre-lubricated MLX Red v2 linear switches, which include built-in sound dampening to ensure a quieter operation compared to standard mechanical options. Understanding the needs of Apple users, Corsair has integrated Mac-specific command and option keys, along with a function key row that aligns with Apple’s standard design. Furthermore, users can personalize key assignments and LED lighting through the Corsair iCue software, now accessible on macOS.
Exceptional Battery Life and Connectivity
One of the standout features of the K65 Plus is its impressive battery life, reportedly lasting up to 266 hours on a single charge. However, details on whether this estimate is consistent across all connection methods—USB, Bluetooth, and low-latency 2.4GHz wireless—remain unclear. While a USB 2.4GHz dongle is included for optimal performance, its USB-A format requires users with USB-C-only Macs to use an additional adapter, which could be a minor inconvenience.
M75 Wireless Gaming Mouse Overview
Complementing the keyboard, the M75 wireless mouse is designed with versatility in mind, weighing a mere 89 grams and featuring an ambidextrous shape to suit both right- and left-handed gamers. This mouse is powered by Corsair’s high-precision 26,000 DPI Marksman optical sensor and supports both Bluetooth and Slipstream wireless connectivity. Similar to the K65 Plus, the M75 mouse allows users to tailor lighting effects, sensitivity, and button settings through the iCue software.
Availability and Pricing
Both the keyboard and mouse are available in Mac-specific finishes. The frost color variant is currently available at Apple’s online and retail stores, priced at $179.95 for the keyboard and $129.95 for the mouse. A glacier blue variant will be released later, at the same price point. With this launch, Corsair addresses the needs of Mac users in the gaming community, providing them with high-performance peripherals and customization possibilities that were previously limited.
