Cordae Unveils New Album ‘The Crossroads’ Set to Release on Major DSPs This November

Cordae is experiencing a significant surge in 2024, gearing up to culminate the year with the launch of his much-anticipated fourth studio album, titled The Crossroads. Throughout this year, the rapper has unveiled three singles, leading many to speculate that these tracks are part of the official promotional strategy for the upcoming LP.

The reveal of The Crossroads‘ anticipated release coincided with the debut of his latest track, Mad As F*ck, which became available on streaming platforms on October 11, 2024, through Atlantic Recording Corporation. This single was accompanied by a music video directed by Wax Bando and filmed by A Plus Filmz.

In his new release, Cordae collaborates with producers Darko, Elkan, and Smoko Ono, who collectively crafted a vibrant trap beat that complements his lively lyrical style. The song includes clever references to the rap rivalries of 2024.

“I don’t f–k with these rap n—-s, I think all of y’all some ho-s (Huh) / Feel like crashin’ out like K. Dot if a n—a impose (What’s good?) / Tryna steal all the sauce n—a, tryna take a young n—a flows (Huh?) / Why you mad? I don’t f–kin’ know”- Cordae raps on Mad As F*ck.

While the exact tracklist for The Crossroads remains largely undisclosed, its page on Apple Music confirms that the album will feature a total of 17 tracks, including the three singles that have already been released.

The Key Details About Cordae’s The Crossroads Album Rollout

Grammy-nominated artist Cordae Amari Brooks initiated the rollout for his forthcoming fourth studio album with the release of his striking collaboration with Lil Wayne titled Saturday Mornings.

In this track, Brooks partners with Smoko Ono and BoogzDaBeast to create a soulful anthem, driven by Lil Wayne’s intricate rhyme schemes and memorable lines such as:

“You sweet as jelly-jam, honey glazed deli ham / Bubblegum candy yams, my gun never jam / I got a heavy hand, but hold it like a Steadicam / Am I talking to the martians when I pray, man? I need to know is there a heaven or just Space Jam? / And it’s Saturday morning every day, man / Young Carter and Cordae, man, all day, man”

This track was also accompanied by a music video featuring both Cordae and Lil Wayne, which was posted on the rapper’s YouTube channel a day after the streaming debut on July 24, 2024.

Further building on his vibrant summer vibe, Brooks followed up with another new track, Summer Drop, which features close collaborator and friend Anderson. Paak. Released across all major streaming platforms on August 28, 2024, this track highlights Cordae’s lyrical storytelling and musical ability, including standout lines like:

“I worked at the barbershop / I swept up the hair from under the chair, couldn’t talk a lot / I saved up the whole summer, that’s how I got school clothes / I bought some Pumas and some fake chains, that was fools gold / My n—a, what you know about those hot summers? For Summer Drop‘s production, Brooks engaged Kelsey González, who worked alongside J. Cole to create a jazz-infused instrumental backdrop. The track’s official music video was directed by SAMBA DIOP and was made available on the rapper’s YouTube channel a day after the song’s streaming launch.

This upcoming album will be a continuation of Cordae’s musical journey, succeeding his 2022 project, From A Bird’s Eye View, which dropped on January 14 and made its debut at number 13 on the Billboard 200 chart.
