Exploring the Galaxy in Love and Deepspace: The Galaxy Explorer Feature

If you’re familiar with gacha games, the banner system in Love and Deepspace will feel quite intuitive. Yet, this game introduces a unique component known as the Galaxy Explorer, which can be accessed through a circular button located in the upper right corner of both permanent and limited-time banners.

For regular players of LaDS, making a habit of checking the Galaxy Explorer every session is advisable. Although it typically offers lower chances of yielding high-rarity Memories compared to standard banners, it exclusively utilizes free currencies. This means you can capitalize on your accumulating currency without spending your hard-earned resources.

The Galaxy Explorer allows for a decent return on your time spent. You’re guaranteed at least a 3-Star Memory or an equivalent upgrade with each search, and there are occasional bonuses including 4- and 5-Star Memory fragments. If luck is on your side, you may even discover a complete high-rarity Memory. Notably, certain former event-exclusive Memories are now available solely through this feature.

Adjusting Coordinates in Galaxy Explorer

Upon accessing either the Silver Galaxy or Radiant Galaxy, it may not be immediately obvious that you can adjust the coordinates before starting your search.

By dragging the arrows along the axes, you can set coordinates from 1 to 20 on the top axis and from 0 to 100 on the bottom axis. While these numbers do not correlate with specific outcomes, they can be helpful in tracking lucky coordinates or sharing successful pairings with the LaDS community.

After selecting your coordinates, simply tap Explore to spend one piece of the corresponding Magnet currency and set off on your mission. Each exploration requires eight hours to complete, which limits players to three explorations under typical circumstances. However, utilizing Speed-Up Cubes, which are often rewards for daily and event activities, allows players to finish explorations instantly at a 1:1 exchange rate.

Currency and Drop Rates in Galaxy Explorer

To conduct searches in the Galaxy Explorer, players need Silver and Radiant Magnets specific to each galaxy.Silver Magnets can be easily acquired as daily rewards, so you’ll likely find yourself with an ample supply. After consistent play for six months, one player recorded having around 70 unspent Silver Magnets after daily explorations.

In contrast, Radiant Magnets are less common; however, completing weekly challenges and participating in events can yield them. Regular players find they can typically earn one of these Magnets each day, especially as they are frequently dropped as bonuses during Silver Galaxy explorations.

Here are the drop rates for both Galaxy types:

Silver Galaxy Drop Rates

3-Star Memory 85%
4-Star Memory Shard x10 10%
4-Star Memory 5%
Bonus Drop: Radiant Magnet ?

Radiant Galaxy Drop Rates

4-Star Memory Shard x10 70%
4-Star Memory Shard x20 15%
4-Star Memory 10%
5-Star Memory Shard x10 4.5%
5-Star Memory Shard x20 0.4%
5-Star Memory 0.1%

With these drop rates, Galaxy Explorer serves as an effective means to amass fully ranked-up 3-Star Memories, the most frequently obtained item from the Silver Galaxy. Thus, engaging in regular explorations can assist in rounding out your collection.

Memory Shards may not constitute complete cards; however, they are essential for crafting and upgrading. Collect 30 Shards for a 4-Star Memory or 40 Shards for a 5-Star Memory. Any excess beyond crafting fully ranked cards converts into various Heartsand currencies, akin to receiving a duplicate in standard gacha pulls.

Effective Coordinate Strategies for Galaxy Exploration

The significance of the coordinates chosen during Galaxy Exploration remains a topic of debate among players. Some assert that results are entirely random, while others believe certain coordinates yield more favorable outcomes.

You can find a plethora of tips on potentially lucky coordinates on r/LoveAndDeepspace. After experimenting with widely recommended numbers, I’ve observed an increase in drop rates, particularly when using 17/70 in Silver Galaxy and 09/52 in Radiant Galaxy. Acknowledgment goes to u/Alluringvoices and u/chloemmillerr for these suggestions, and further updates on tips will be shared after more exploration.

While many claim that companions’ birthdays bring luck, this might not hold water. The input rules prevent entering two odd numbers, eliminating Zayne’s (05/09) from consideration. However, coordinates based on Rafayel’s (06/03) or Caleb’s (13/06) may function if you’re flexible about day and month placement, as well as Sylus (18/04) and Xavier (16/10) for either axis direction.

In conclusion, the opportunity for free Memories in LaDS is undoubtedly appealing, adding a delightful twist to your gaming experience.
