Co-Op Mode in Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Yasuke and Naoe Team Up for Combat
Ubisoft has made headlines recently by announcing a significant delay for one of its highly anticipated titles, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which is now set to launch in 2025. Amidst this delay, there is buzz regarding a potential co-op mode currently in development for the game.
According to a leak from Tom Henderson, a reliable source in the video game industry, Ubisoft has been dedicating time to develop this co-op mode, codenamed LEAGUE, for quite some time. Importantly, this ongoing development is reportedly unrelated to the postponement of the game, which aims to give the studio more room for improvements.
However, it appears that players will need to wait for a post-launch update to access this new feature, as Henderson has indicated that the co-op mode will not be available at the game’s initial release. The overall release schedule for the entire Assassin’s Creed franchise has also been altered due to the delay of Shadows.
In this report, it is revealed that players can expect to see the two main characters, Naoe and Yasuke, fighting together in the upcoming co-op mode. In the main campaign, gamers can alternate between the two characters for various missions or open-world battles. Yasuke is positioned for direct combat, while Naoe specializes in a more traditional assassin combat style, each character employing distinct abilities.
As always, it is advisable to approach this information cautiously until an official announcement is made. Should the report be confirmed, Ubisoft is likely to unveil details about the co-op feature prior to the game’s release.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is now scheduled for release on February 14, 2025. The game will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Notably, Ubisoft has removed timed exclusivity for its PC versions, allowing the title to be released on Steam simultaneously on launch day along with other platforms.
