Exciting Updates from the February 12 State of Play Presentation
The recent State of Play presentation on February 12 not only highlighted new looks at various PlayStation Studios titles, but it also showcased some of the year’s most anticipated third-party games. Among these was Control Resonant, the highly awaited sequel from Remedy Entertainment, which is poised to be the studio’s most ambitious project yet.
A Glimpse into the Gameplay of Control Resonant
The newly released gameplay trailer, which you can watch below, features Dylan Faden, the brother of Jesse, the protagonist from the original Control game. Dylan faces off against a range of paranatural challenges armed with a versatile weapon known as the Aberrant, utilizing the environment to his advantage.
Highlights from the Gameplay Trailer
Although the trailer runs for just about three minutes, it effectively showcases a dynamic array of environments, enemies, and combat mechanics. The gameplay exudes an energy reminiscent of character-action titles, drawing comparisons to DmC – Devil May Cry, which was rebooted by CAPCOM and developed by Ninja Theory.
Community Buzz and Future Prospects
This compelling gameplay reveal is likely to elevate community sentiment toward Control Resonant. As Markus Mäki, the interim CEO of Remedy, expressed earlier this week, “Our objective is to create a game that is a ‘must-have day-one purchase’ for both fans of the Control series and enthusiasts of the action role-playing genre. The announcement at The Game Awards last December kicked off what we believe will be an extensive global marketing campaign for Control Resonant.”
The excitement surrounding this project is palpable, with many wondering if it could emerge as a potential Game of the Year (GOTY) contender. Enthusiasts of the genre and newcomers alike are already looking forward to diving into this ambitious gaming experience.
