Conor McGregor reacts with drug test update after news of him submitting most samples in 2024 emerges
Following reports of him submitting the majority of samples in 2024, Conor McGregor provided an update on his drug test results.
Despite his prolonged absence, McGregor’s frequent testing in 2024 is a reassuring sign for MMA enthusiasts eagerly anticipating his return to the UFC roster.
Recently, McGregor shared on his story that he has undergone five testing sessions in 2024, making him the most tested UFC athlete. In the caption, he stated:
”Got tested again yesterday. All good in the hood.”

In the previous year, the Irishman was selected to coach alongside Michael Chandler for season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter. Following the show’s run from May 30 to Aug. 15, it was expected that the two would face each other in the octagon.
McGregor’s highly-anticipated return has been put on hold due to his delayed re-entry into the USADA drug-testing pool. The UFC and USADA initially planned to continue their partnership, but disagreements led to their separation in 2023. In response, the promotion formed a new alliance with the Drug-Free Sporting Institute (DFSI).
After USADA CEO Travis Tygart confirmed that McGregor had reentered the drug testing pool, this decision was reached. McGregor had originally departed the program as a result of a leg injury sustained during his bout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, rendering him unable to participate.
Tygart’s comment suggested that the UFC may be giving preferential treatment to McGregor. He stated:
“We can confirm that Conor McGregor has re-entered the USADA testing pool as of Sunday, October 8, 2023. We have been clear and firm with the UFC that there should be no exception given by the UFC for McGregor to fight until he has returned two negative tests and been in the pool for at least six months.”
Jon Anik’s Forecast for Conor McGregor’s Return to the UFC
As per UFC commentator Jon Anik, there is a possibility that Conor McGregor will make his comeback in June, coinciding with International Fight Week in the octagon.
Despite not participating in the sport since sustaining a leg injury during his 2021 trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier, ‘The Notorious’ continues to be eagerly anticipated by fans for his return.
During the podcast with Jon Anik and Kenny Florian, Anik proposed two potential dates for McGregor’s comeback.
“If you look at the calendar, Mar25, about three months from now 12-13 weeks away from UFC 303 I guess it would be. June 29, International Fight Week, that would seem to make a lot of sense.”
