Conor McGregor discloses early box office earnings of ‘Road House’ as the remake becomes Amazon’s most-watched movie debut
Conor McGregor has recently disclosed the initial box office earnings for the remake of ‘Road House’, which has now become Amazon’s top-grossing movie release.
Due to his charisma and success in combat sports, ‘The Notorious’ was a perfect addition to the cast of the movie. However, following his leg injury during his fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, McGregor had to patiently wait for his recovery. As a result, he accepted a significant role in the remake of the renowned 1989 film ‘Road House.’
Last month, the movie came out, featuring McGregor and Jake Gyllenhaal. It takes place in the Florida Keys, where Gyllenhaal is a bouncer at a roadhouse bar. The film showcases a dynamic group of characters, including McGregor, who launch several intense assaults on the Roadhouse.
Earlier this week, Amazon Prime reported that 50 million individuals globally had tuned in to watch McGregor’s first role in a film. This achievement has now set a record for the highest number of viewers for a movie exclusively streaming on Amazon. With the movie being accessible for only two weeks, it is expected that this number will continue to rise.
McGregor recently posted on X to congratulate Amazon Studios and MGM Studios for the success of their film. He added a caption to the post:
”Congrats to @amazonstudios and @mgmstudios on their @roadhousemovie becoming their most watched movie of all time! 50 million viewers over two weekends. That’s $750m at the box office. In 10 days! Insane! Congrats all the team, it was a pleasure”
Despite the film’s success, McGregor remains unenthusiastic about returning to the big screen. During a recent interview with TNT Sports, McGregor discussed his upcoming acting projects, stating:
“I feel like I could actually play any role on planet Earth because I feel my life is so removed from reality. Nobody knows me, nobody really knows me… But I don’t actually fancy it. That’s the thing, I’m not really into it, to be honest. It’s a bit weird to me. Just get me back in that octagon.”

It’s understandable why Conor McGregor made the decision to appear in ‘Road House.’
Last month, the film was met with great success upon its release on Amazon Prime. Along with ‘The Notorious,’ the movie boasts an impressive cast including Jessica Wiliams, Daniela Melchior, and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Despite the fact that an official paystub has not been released, it is undeniable that The Irishman is one of the most prominent stars of the film and will be compensated accordingly. According to his media company, The Mac Life, McGregor has set a new record for the highest-paid debut actor.
