Microsoft has officially rolled out the Mixed Reality Link and the Windows App for Meta Quest, now accessible to all users. This innovative launch offers Meta Quest customers an opportunity to enhance their workflow by creating an “immersive productivity”environment.
Transforming Workspaces with Virtual Monitors
The integration of the Windows App and Mixed Reality Link allows Meta Quest users to seamlessly connect to their local Windows PCs or leverage Windows 365 PCs in the cloud. This capability empowers users to have an array of virtual monitors hovering in their environment, akin to functionalities available on Apple’s Vision Pro headset. Users have the flexibility to either keep their virtual screens visible in conjunction with their physical surroundings or retreat into a serene, distraction-free virtual workspace.
From Preview to General Availability
After offering a preview in December last year, Microsoft has now made “immersive productivity”accessible to everyone with the launch of Meta’s Horizon OS 81. This latest release eliminates the need for users to activate experimental features to access this functionality.

To connect your Meta Quest 3 or Meta Quest 3S to a PC, users need to download the Mixed Reality Link app on their computers.
