Comprehensive List of Overwatch 2 Season 13 Hero Buffs and Nerfs

The adjustments to Heroes in Overwatch 2 Season 13 will significantly influence the game’s meta. Previous seasons faced criticism for their severe imbalance, primarily due to the overwhelming strength of Tanks, among other factors impacting gameplay.

This article will delve into the anticipated Hero buffs and nerfs that players can expect in Overwatch 2 Season 13.

An Overview of Anticipated Hero Buffs and Nerfs in Overwatch 2 Season 13

As previously noted, the recent seasons of Overwatch 2 have been marked by notable Hero balance issues. Initially, the Support class Heroes were dominant; however, recent updates have shifted the focus to Tanks and Damage Heroes, who now resemble formidable raid bosses.

While Damage Heroes had their counters, Tanks have experienced significant power escalations in the last couple of seasons. Their enhanced abilities and health pools have positioned them as the primary force within their teams.

Overwatch 2 relies heavily on teamwork, and poor balancing can disrupt the core enjoyment of cooperative play. Following the mid-season adjustments in Season 12, we anticipate that the development team will strategically implement a balanced approach to Hero buffs and nerfs in Season 13.

Now, let’s examine the expected changes to Hero balancing as we approach the upcoming season:

Tanks

This season, we predict that Tanks will undergo strict balancing adjustments. Their excessive power has proven detrimental to game dynamics, as Overwatch thrives on collaborative gameplay and diverse Hero synergies, setting it apart from other Hero-shooters.

Particularly, Dive Tanks have been quite overpowering recently. While the dive playstyle can be engaging for many players, the presence of nearly invincible Tank Heroes diminishes the enjoyment for others.

Consequently, we foresee a general nerf affecting the majority of Tank Heroes within the game.

Damage

The Damage class Heroes may experience slight balance modifications in Overwatch 2 Season 13. Although they haven’t been as dominant as Tanks, recent adjustments to healing mechanics have given them a considerable advantage over Support Heroes.

Heroes like Sombra and Tracer excel at close-range burst damage, capitalizing on their ability to inflict healing debuffs on enemy targets with just a few hits.

This has turned them into persistent threats for Support Heroes, making survival increasingly challenging. We propose that revisions to how Damage Heroes interact with healing debuffs are necessary to create more equitable conditions for all Hero classes.

Support

Support Heroes are in line for enhancements to their abilities. While their existing skills are generally effective, issues surrounding their survivability have become increasingly critical. Except for Heroes like Lucio, who boasts substantial mobility, many Support characters struggle against the overwhelming power of Tanks and Damage Heroes.

We advocate for a slight increase in their health pools or a modest enhancement to their mobility, which would significantly improve the gameplay experience for Support players.
