In Atomfall, the game introduces players to an intriguing cast of characters, but none are quite as pivotal to your escape as Dr. Garrow. Known for her sharp wit and slightly abrasive personality, this important NPC provides valuable assistance as you navigate through the challenges of the game.
Your journey with Dr. Garrow begins when you aim to liberate her from Skethermoor Prison. Her expertise, particularly with the Signal Redirector tool, will prove essential for your escape plans. Below is our comprehensive guide to completing Dr. Garrow’s quest in Atomfall.
Guide to Dr. Garrow’s Quest in Atomfall
To initiate Dr. Garrow’s quest, your first objective is to free her from Skethermoor Prison. You have two main approaches to accomplishing this:
- Captain Sims Approach: Gain Sims’ favor by reporting on a villager like Vicar McHenry, Morris Wick, or Iris the Baker. He will then instruct you to interrogate Dr. Garrow, granting you access to the prison without attracting the attention of the Protocol Soldiers.
- Windfall Shipment and Crane Controls Approach: Retrieve June’s Key from The Little Tea Room in Wyndham Village, unlock June’s Lockbox in Village Hall, and follow the notes to find the Windfall Shipment. Here, you’ll obtain the Signal Redirector tool that, combined with the Crane Controls Keycard located in the Interchange, allows you access to the Detention Quarter, enabling a stealthy path to Dr. Garrow’s cell.
After securing access to Skethermoor Prison, proceed to talk to Dr. Garrow in her cell. She will provide insights on the Signal Redirector tool and request that you utilize it to set her free.
If you haven’t obtained the Signal Redirector from the Windfall Shipment, fear not; you can also find one on a shelf in the prison’s Security room, conveniently situated near Dr. Garrow.

To release Dr. Garrow, climb over the ledge in her vicinity and enter the Electricals room. Here, use the Signal Redirector on the power junction depicted in the image below, which will grant you entry to the Control Room.

Inside the Control Room, simply head upstairs and pull the lever to liberate all inmates, including Dr. Garrow. Be aware that this action will provoke hostility from the prison’s guards, so it’s advisable to exit swiftly.
Next, rendezvous with Dr. Garrow at the Interchange’s Central Processor, where she will assign you the task of retrieving vital notes from the lower level of Robotics.
To access this area, head to Robotics by powering Data Store Charlie using an Atomic Battery, then restore power to the large grey door labeled ‘lower level’.This requires employing the Signal Redirector on a power junction found within the Power Control Beta room, as well as on two power junctions inside the Robot Assembly room. Successfully pull the levers in these rooms, then the one in front of the lower level door to continue.

Upon entering the lower level of Robotics, you’ll again use the Signal Redirector—this time to open a door and temporarily disable watching drones. Additionally, you will find three consoles labeled A, B, and C that must be interacted with to unlock the entrance to Weapons Testing.

Rejoining Dr. Garrow in the Interchange’s Central Processor will lead to her next request: visit the Dam Data Store in Casterfell Woods and execute the GEN ERA command using the provided keycard. If you’ve previously met Dr. Holder and have collected the Church Cellar Key, she may mention reporting her location to him. Proceed with caution: revealing Dr. Garrow’s whereabouts to Dr. Holder will result in her death and an incomplete quest.
Upon arriving at the Dam Data Store, you will need to utilize the Signal Redirector on the power junctions to restore power to the Control Room while staying clear of the patrolling robot.
Once in the Control Room, you might receive a radio call from Joyce Tanner, requesting that you execute the GEN MOVE command. Be mindful that choosing one command over the other influences future interactions; thus, if your goal is solely to complete Dr. Garrow’s quest, proceed with the GEN ERA command to avoid conflict with Tanner.
After powering the command console, execute the GEN ERA command and make your way back to Dr. Garrow. Her concluding assignment is to obtain a sample of Oberon before destroying it, which will assist in your escape.
This adventure ultimately takes you to the Oberon Dig Site, accessible only after fully powering the Interchange and opening all the doors. Inside, you will need to find and place two Atomic Batteries into the Extraction Drill Battery Terminal to energize the sample extractor.

Once both the explosives and the sample extractor are prepped, return to the Control Room to activate the sample extractor. Watch as it collects the sample into a canister positioned on the left bridge of the dig site. Grab the canister and head back to the Control Room.

Finally, pull the lever on the Self Destruct Console to destroy Oberon for good. Your last task is to find Dr. Garrow in the Head Office located on the lower level of Robotics and deliver her the sample. Enjoy your thrilling conclusion!
